SkyWarrior is proud to announce that it has teamed with PSA Airlines for a ROTOR TRANSITION PROGRAM. Most of you have probably heard about ENVOY Airlines doing something similar on the west coast. The email below was sent by CHRIS BEDZIS, who is one of the lead recruiters for this program.





Good Afternoon,

I am a Pilot Recruiter from PSA Airlines reaching out to you because at some point in recent history you have inquired into a First Officer position, & more specifically a Rotor Transition Program leading to an FO position with our airline. Well, it is finally here!

PSA Airlines has recently partnered with Sky Warrior in Pensacola, FL & we are looking to start our first RTP class in mid-March. In order to be considered for our program, you will need to officially apply through our company website. Attend & panel interview in CLT where you will also learn more about PSA Airlines, our mission, the Rotor Transition Program, & how RTP costs are covered. After passing our panel interview we will place you in contact with our partnered school Sky Warrior to discuss class dates, & pursue final required ratings & flight times.

After your application has been screened & you are selected, you will be expected to provide copies of the following documents at the interview:

1. First Class Medical Certificate
2. Flying Licenses
3. Driver’s License
4. Passport
5. FCC Radio / Telephone License
6. Updated Resume
7. Logbook(s)
8. DD214 Member -4 document, or an official Armed Forces record showing current service.
9. An official U.S. Armed Forces record that shows the person graduated from a U.S. Armed Forces undergraduate pilot training school & received a rating qualification as a military pilot.

We understand that there are certain occasions where some of the documents may be in the mail such as an FCC license, & can waive some documents on a case by case basis. However, an official FO class date will not be given until all documents are accounted for. Default Airman Certificate

So if PSA Recruiting referred to it as an Airman Certificate rather than a "flying license" would no one know what they're talking about? Sorry, had to get that off my chest now that I've seen it more than once.

Default Rotor Transition Program

So in less than 6 months we, (PSA) went from being inundated with high quality f/o resume's and classes being full (60 new f/o's per month) for as far as the eye could see,............ to now offering to pay for helo pilots to get their commercial (fixed wing) pilot license?

Did I get that right?

If so, I think the next "retention bonus" offer is gonna have to be a lot bigger.

This has been in the plans for over a year now.

It is a program where military helo pilots can come to the airlines and we help with the transition.

I have heard recruiters saying that the end goal is to be able to have a steady pipeline of pilots coming to PSA in the future. This is one of the programs that they think will help with this. The college cadet programs, the rotor transition plan, and a couple of others that they are still working on. The idea is to have 40-50 pilots a month coming to PSA through these programs and then adding a few more "street hires" to fill the classes.

I am not saying that it is going to work, but that is the plan.

If we could get 15 rotor transition per month, and another 25 Cadet's per month, then that would be a great start each and every month.

I think its great! I have a army rotorhead friend who says the market is pretty saturated with ex mil guys. So any help to get fixed wing time is golden to him.

for commuter clause protection to kick in, you have to show that you had a backup plan for getting to wok if your primary failed. If you leave yourself no backup then no commuter clause protection if you don't make it in on time.

Thanks. That what I was trying to understand. I was trying to understand if it was designed around actually being BOOKED on that flight or watching the loads and booking on the first flight but using the loads on the second flight as your "backup". Essentially saying, I didnt take the first because the second was wide open.

(it's a confusing question and even harder to explain when trying to type it out).

looking at awards chart... probably can t beat the system, but a question is since the scr, lcr, BU is about the same at both CVG and TYS, but then big difference in R1. ... could you stay at TYS through BU , then move to CVG and have shorter time until R1 ?

You could try that, the caveat being that there has to be a vacancy for you to transfer into. If you're junior and all the vacancies are all taken by pilots senior to you, you'll never get into that base.

While that's probably not a problem for someone transferring into CVG, it could very well be an issues for someone trying to get back into TYS.
