Bunch of military guys would love ORF, including this one.

No airline going to have bases that benefit an entire pilot group to be honest

True. But no airline should open a bunch of outstations making it impossible to commute without two legging it....PHL or ORD would beneficially in the sense that if you are on day 4 let’s say and your airplane breaks down or your DH on AA cancels for whatever reason, you can catch a commute on another airline or AA from one of those cities to just about anywhere in the United States. As oppose to ORF, you’ll be two legging it. Not to mention most but not all of the trips will start with a DH to a hub if we open ORF...just another DAY, CVG waiting to happen.

Lol, you think ALPA has a say? Go read 26.U in the contract.

If only Dayton were a MX base without a crew base, haha.

PHL is the logical choice for a new crew base, but I think aircraft parking is a big issue at the hubs (price and space) which makes the outstations look better on paper, I'm guessing.

No, but maybe influence their decisions. Lets be honest, 90% of the pilot group will hate ORF as a crew base...I hope the company knows that

Envoy opens up all hubs and they seem to have no problem. All of their bases are commutable. Yet here we are being cheap and making ORF a crew base. Why should we be the ones that have to constantly be cheap?

I know 100% thad Dion said it. I heard it come from his mouth at the December state of the airline in the CLT crew room. He said they want to align MX bases and crew bases as much as possible, and they are seriously considering ORF as the next crew base.

I think another out station crew base is stupid though, but probably the PSA way.
