In return, PSA got a better contract, and knew that AAG would have to return to the table in a short amount of time to improve things anyways.

It seems like PSA MEC played this game pretty well, and you are jealous about it.

PSA got a good contract (that unfortunately isn't followed by management) and didn't have to give up anything of value to get it. AAG played Envoy, Envoy lost, are jealous, and they somehow still can't see it.
No, I am not. I am upset they turned down 2 years worth of bonuses at a company most people won't be at longer than 3 years. I am upset because this wouldn't fix all their problems so there would be plenty of "leverage". They decided not to let the FO's pick up a dollar off the ground, because they couldn't. Not because there some grand scheme where there gonna be some power house negotiating team getting setting the standard for all furture airlines. GMAFB

Let's be clear here. The Envoy "hiring and retention bonus" program will NOT benefit any pilots currently employed at Envoy. Nor will it benefit any pilots currently employed at PSA, if adopted. This program is solely and entirely aimed at pilots who are currently employed at OTHER 121 CARRIERS!!!!! NOT CURRENT PSA OR ENVOY FIRST OFFICERS (or Captains)!!!

Here's the language, directly from Envoy's ad: (with my emphasis added)
"Envoy will now offer up to $10,000 for **NEW HIRE** pilots who have Part 121 commercial air carrier experience. In return for a two-year commitment to Envoy,...."
I think you did not read...

To ensure Envoy’s current experienced First Officers (FOs) choose to remain at Envoy, the company today introduced a retention bonus of up to $20,000 for all Envoy First Officers who are on payroll as of March 1, 2016.

The First Officer Retention program begins March 1 and will continue for two years, ending February 28, 2018. Eligible Envoy First Officers will receive $2,500 after every quarter that they remain actively on payroll with Envoy.

Your concern for the FOs at someone else's airline is admirable. I'm one of those FOs and I hope the MEC tells the company to pound sand. This is an insult of an offer. If the company would fix CCP and pay us properly I wouldn't need $2,500 every three months because I'd be making more than that on the line with more days off. This is like our CCF bonus of $50 a month. I easily make more than that with a little over block here and there and the customers still get dropped off on time.

Their offer is a bandaid and will do nothing to fix our lack of hiring, high attrition, stagnation and need to defer aircraft. This is just another halfa$$ed effort to mimick what others are already doing.

You missed this one. Retention is for all new hires on property. It's spelled out very clearly.

Do you work at PSA? Were you at PSA during the 2013 vote?

The vote was never about "we really wanna fly those jets" it was about surviving to fight another day. That day has now come. This airline will not be staffed unless major improvements are made.

You don't win every battle of a war. With our "concessions" we locked in critical pay which, while being honored by the company, made us the 2nd highest paying regional. It also locked in the most powerful tool in the industry for QoL, for 10 years.

Those ***** made a strategic decision that is now paying off.

Is this our opportunity to whipsaw back?

Pilot group 1 accepted an offer and set the baseline.

Pilot group 2/3 refuse and force something better, knowing the baseline. Pilot group 1 gets the better deal as well since AA will make all 3 identical in their plan.

When things don't improve because the offers aren't good enough, we rinse and repeat.

Am I crazy?

This's is the most frustrating part. You are right. It won't fix anything, I'll stay a property the same amount of time I would have anyways. PICK UP THE MONEY. All your thoughts would be valid if this was an end all be all proposal, but it isn't. It's a total freebe they took the "high" road on.
I know beyond all doubt if it went only to the captains and not to the FO's this wouldn't be a conversation it would have already been passed.

It won't ever be an end all, be all proposal if we keep accepting scraps. They've kicked the can while riding us to huge profits. We need to be so expensive that we get pulled to mainline. That's the goal.

The way they've handled the flow is enough proof that taking this pathetic offer is a bad idea.

The flow was supposed to solve everything. It didn't and that knew that almost immediately. Have they come back yet? Nope. They are still waiting until June. Maybe out of stubbornness, pride, delusion? I don't know. They will feed us this scrap and keep marching like its the solution despite all the evidence to the contrary. Meanwhile, we've sold ourselves short and given them a new reprieve.

I think your confusing the wet dream you keep having with reality.

Your confusing your greed, as nobel selflessness. At least the captains that voted this down clearly understand its their basic jealously that they weren't included.
