However, I'd much rather finish training and start flying right away - 6 months is a long time without any real flying time.
i'm in the 900 and my wait came after ground in MSP until sim training. about a month off for me. (not as bad as some people had, but i enjoyed the break) i traveled a little bit. but not international. and you should get paid your 75 hours/month starting the first day of training.

Hello everyone and Happy New Year. I just recently was hired by XJ and start in Feb. I am really looking forward to it. I hear nothing but great things about the company. I have been reading all of your posts on here for quite awhile now and have received a lot of great information. I was wondering, the first packet of information that I received from HR with the turbine transition manual, is all of these forms to be filled out prior to showing up on class date? There are a lot that I have questions on but do not wish to bother HR with stuff like that unless I really need to, knowing that they are busy. Also, I am a very low time pilot. What can I do to make sure that I am as prepared as possible when showing up for class, if anything? I have a lot of down time right now and want to be as prepared as I can. Thanks all for your help and I look forward to working with you.

Any forms you receive before class should be filled out in advance. On day one they will be going over everything so don't worry too much. You should be getting your FOM and a review packet in the mail before class. That will be some good material to dive into so your not overloaded during Indoc week. It will help to get a grasp on the 1 nav/2 nav rule, Exemption 3585, and duty/rest times. Don't worry about anything related to the airplane just yet. Just take it as it's introduced. Welcome aboard.

Mesaba has an "equipment" lock for 3 years for all new hires. This means that you cannot bid another aircraft type while an FO for three years. This does not limit or prevent your upgrade to ANY captain seat.

When you do upgrade, you will then be "Seat" locked for 24 months in that aircraft and seat.

quick question for all the saab drivers out there. Any advice on the vneck sweaters from the stopover store? Or are there any other places to pick up a good sweater? Also, any advice on getting some good uniform shirts would be welcome. Thanks and fly safe
