It can be anyone from any category. The top 36 people (seniority wise) with a standing category bid of CVG CA will be awarded CVG CA. The secondary bid, which is now done automatically, will backfill any positions left open by someone being awarded a CVG CA spot. Example: a JFK CA is awarded CVG CA, now the next senior person with JFK CA as their standing bid will be awarded JFK CA.

If I am wrong, someone correct me.

Which costs does JS refer? Are these cost labor, operations, the rent at the GO?

Does anyone know?
Labor is huge at this airline. No other regional in the country has the amount of ridiculously senior pilots like Comair does.

Just remember guys, labor is a (should be a)FIXED COST, it's managements problem to deal with budgeting.

Everytime i talk to scheduling they tell me that they're stressing to find coverage for the 70/90. I'm willing to bet it's a matter of time before they have a small base up here. Especially if we get Freedumb stuff.

I totally agree. Comair used to be an airline you one day could retire from. A career airline. Then there came Delta.....With that said, I think many of the senior pilots have (had?) a QOL that they couldn't get back if they moved on. So why move?
I think the management should treat these guys with respect and see them as an asset to the company, a resource, not a cost.
The big costs are when you continiously have to train new pilots all the time.

Unfortunately that's not the case, in managements eyes.. they see everything for it's monetary value....if they can trade someone that gets paid 100K a year, for a 6 year Comair CA who gets 65K a year its a smart financial decision for them. Not to mention extra flying the senior guy may get.

Experience means nothing to them.

I spent 10 yrs at Comair, recently got released for time served. Comair flat out does not want pilots to stay there. At 10 yrs, 8 as a crj cvg CA, I was 12 numbers from rsv and had 11 or 12 days off, mostly 4 and 5 day trips. Life looked like it didn't get any better until about 15 to 17 yrs, the only difference between my sched and theirs was weekends off. That is why the trips are so bad. Leaving Comair was the best thing that ever happened to me, even if I get laid off-NWA. Message to new people, stay as far away from there as you can, each day you spend there is a day wasted somewhere else. 5-7 yr upgrades aren't worth it....Good luck and good riddens
