Here another tip: When you check into the hotel let them know you will be there for 3 days and they will just let you keep the same room for all three days. Then when you go into work for the night you can give your hotel room to someone who may have to sleep in ops. Just tell them they have to be out by 8 in the morning when you get back.

The flight attendants might not have this in their contract but one thing they do have(that we should have) is the fact when they get displaced in base they get a hotel room.
I say that is absolutely disgusting... get a crash pad.... these people schelpping around sleeping in ops disgust me........... ecspec when I see a 45 yr old captain in his socks and shorts... GET A CRASHPAD

I like how they don't tell you what they're going to do with the money if the merger doesn't go through.

Now PAOK,

That isn't very nice. I've seen you sleeping there before. And I'm guilty of crashing there once or twice myself when I had an early ready.

Now for the ones who live in ops.....I agree......get a crash pad.

Also, if you both be adults some people will let the FA crash with them. And I've even seen FA's give up their hotel rooms to pilots when DS.

I sleep there when I am sitting ready... what else is there to do? When I said sleeping, I meant LIVING... and yes we are adults..... so we dont share hotel rooms, how unprofessional

Regardless of whether or not the merger goes through, we still need to fund the regime of attorneys, experts, etc... that need to be consulted in the event of an actual merger. I agree that this fund should be set up and think that $20 per check is a bargain compared to the alternative of having no plan and being blindsided in the end. That would equate to a loss of seniority, seat/base displacement, or worst case, loss of a job. $20 is a very cheap insurance policy (a bad analogy I know, but you get the drift).

The same people that are going to moan and gripe and complain about having to pay the $20 are the same people that will claim the union is doing nothing for the pilot group. Legal counsel isn't free and your ALPA dues don't fund legal counsel in this scenario.

Thats 20$ a month for a year. What I want to know is if that money does not get used where will it go and how will it be accounted for. I want to make sure it does NOT get used to pay off the money that JC ran up on hotels and vacations. If you don't know our Union is a couple hundred thousand in the hole!

What I hate is seeing someone on the couch snoring away like they are cutting a years worth of firewood. FO's FA's and CAPPYS need to get a crashpad unless they are sitting ready they should not be sleeping there. It is NOT Camp livingroom or Hotel JFK. If I made it through a year as an JFK FO and paid for a crash pad, anyone can!!

OK now while I am on a rant, ALL OF YOU FO's! PICK UP YOUR TRASH WHEN YOU LEAVE THE FLIGHT DECK! YOUR MOMMA DOESN'T CLEAN UP AFTER YOU HERE!!

IF THE SEAT NEEDS A NEW CUSHION, DO NOT STUFF IT WITH BLANKETS! WRITE IT UP!!

IF YOU FLY THE 70/90, DO NOT LEAVE 70 MANIFESTS IN THE 90, AND LEAVE 90 MANIFESTS IN THE 70!

OK I'M DONE

Don't be so cynical, man. We've got a good group of folks in there right now working tirelessly, trust me. And, yes while we were overbudget last year, it was not because JC using our funds on hotels and vacations. Not too sure where you got that inaccurate information from, but it is a false rumor. Granted, I'm not sticking up for him and I'm glad he's out, only stating facts. By the way, the books are always open for you to look at if you are in good standing. Just go into the MEC office and look it up yourself. Everyone gripes and complains about false rumors but does nothing to verify the facts.
