Ive done it its true. Prior to the start of your month of CD's you call hotels and let them know you would like a room in base during the days of your cd's.
Here another tip: When you check into the hotel let them know you will be there for 3 days and they will just let you keep the same room for all three days. Then when you go into work for the night you can give your hotel room to someone who may have to sleep in ops. Just tell them they have to be out by 8 in the morning when you get back.
The flight attendants might not have this in their contract but one thing they do have(that we should have) is the fact when they get displaced in base they get a hotel room.

That isn't very nice. I've seen you sleeping there before. And I'm guilty of crashing there once or twice myself when I had an early ready.
Now for the ones who live in ops.....I agree......get a crash pad.
Also, if you both be adults some people will let the FA crash with them. And I've even seen FA's give up their hotel rooms to pilots when DS.

The same people that are going to moan and gripe and complain about having to pay the $20 are the same people that will claim the union is doing nothing for the pilot group. Legal counsel isn't free and your ALPA dues don't fund legal counsel in this scenario.

Regardless of whether or not the merger goes through, we still need to fund the regime of attorneys, experts, etc... that need to be consulted in the event of an actual merger. I agree that this fund should be set up and think that $20 per check is a bargain compared to the alternative of having no plan and being blindsided in the end. That would equate to a loss of seniority, seat/base displacement, or worst case, loss of a job. $20 is a very cheap insurance policy (a bad analogy I know, but you get the drift).

Thats 20$ a month for a year. What I want to know is if that money does not get used where will it go and how will it be accounted for. I want to make sure it does NOT get used to pay off the money that JC ran up on hotels and vacations. If you don't know our Union is a couple hundred thousand in the hole!

What I hate is seeing someone on the couch snoring away like they are cutting a years worth of firewood. FO's FA's and CAPPYS need to get a crashpad unless they are sitting ready they should not be sleeping there. It is NOT Camp livingroom or Hotel JFK. If I made it through a year as an JFK FO and paid for a crash pad, anyone can!!
OK now while I am on a rant, ALL OF YOU FO's! PICK UP YOUR TRASH WHEN YOU LEAVE THE FLIGHT DECK! YOUR MOMMA DOESN'T CLEAN UP AFTER YOU HERE!!
IF THE SEAT NEEDS A NEW CUSHION, DO NOT STUFF IT WITH BLANKETS! WRITE IT UP!!
IF YOU FLY THE 70/90, DO NOT LEAVE 70 MANIFESTS IN THE 90, AND LEAVE 90 MANIFESTS IN THE 70!
OK I'M DONE
