Seems like there going to be a change for non-union employees regarding vacation and sick time. Supposedly it will mirror Delta's policies. I think they need to get rid of JS and just have Richard and Ed run the place...jeez!

I am Nov. 5th. It was certified mail so I had to sign for it and that's why it was so expensive. They just want to make sure we get the message. Between the phone call, epic and the letter I think I understand. The letter says " you are important to the company," haha! They are putting a lot of work into letting me know I'll soon be out of work!

Ha, if that's your light at the end of the tunnel then I'm sorry.
We haven't flown more than 5 airplanes for Delta in the past 3 months. Those 5 airplanes aren't the reason your getting furloghed.
When are you guys going to acknowledge the real reason your being screwed? Delta.
I know, don't bite the hand that feeds you, but if you remember correctly we all used to fly for Delta. Plenty of flying for everyone.
Sorry to all of you regarding the furloughs. Unfourtunately, seems to be the way of the regionals these days (us included). Good luck to you guys.

As much as I hate to agree with paxhauler85, he is right, though
. A lot of people think (myself included not too long ago), that IF Mesa would go under we would get a bunch of flying, more airplanes, hire more pilots. You have to remember that Delta has other regional carriers and contractual obligations with them, which means they would be the first in line to get the flying and airplanes to fulfill their contract, and we have all seen what happens when they break the contract. As much as it sucks, we are just here as a "reserve", because we are owned by Delta. They can give us and take away as much flying as they want. Lately I have been debating if I should be optimistic and hope this place will turn around, or if I should just accept the fact that Comair is going down the drain and eventually be liquidated by Delta. I am leaning towards the latter.I think with the closure of Concourse C and all the cutbacks in flying in CVG, not only Comair but also mainline, it is only a sign of things to come once the merger is complete. As much as I hate to speculate, but I see Cincinnati become a ''focus city" for Delta, just like Boston. I doubt they will close down Cincinnati all together, but I could see CVG close as a Delta crew domicile.
Also, I have been curious as to what they are doing in the employee parking lot in CVG. I have heard it is suppose to become an overflow parking lot for rental cars in the middle, while the outside circle will remain employee parking. True?

FACT. You are correct. The center part will be fenced in overflow parking for rental cars, currently they are supposedly wasting too much gas and time shuttling cars from CVG to holding lots in Columbus and Indy. We will only be able to park in the area currently allotted to us now.

The numerous proposals about reducing the amount of furloughs. Cola, voluntary furloughs and what not. The MEC has been giving ideas to the company(DS) and he has been shooting them down and not sharing any of the info with the Vage.
During the BK the same thing happened. The union was offering many differerent ideas to the company and getting nowhere. It was then that the MEC went straight to Delta. Delta was confuesed as to why the offers weren't taken. Delta agreed with the MEC and then shortly after there was a plan. How bad is it when you have to go around your management to your parent company to get anywhere.
Delta should just get rid of Comair's management and just run the place themselves. How much money would that save over the course of a contract?

At the same time, I wonder why the company was able to negotiate with the FA's for voluntary leaves but not the pilots? There are a couple logical reasons that the IBT could get a deal done and the MEC could not...but one is not because the company refused to negotiate with ALPA but was happy to talk to IBT. And how come during this whole time period when the company was supposedly ignoring these proposals, the union did not say anything to us about it? How come they put out something saying e-crappo was a more pressing issue than furloughs? All I am saying is it doesn't smell right to me. I think everyone on both sides is full of it.
