PDT News and Rumors

It wasn't just Eagle pilots who took a stand, for the good of ALL regional pilots. You need to include XJT and Republic pilots in that group of high-minded professionals who took a stand to better the profession.
The die has been cast. I would ask Piedmont pilots to keep that in mind when they vote.

Your "die" doesn't fit and your struggle isn't necessarily entirely ours to consider...sorry. Your "higher-minded" professionals are all flying for national-sized airlines, and we are not. Your national airlines have more than a few viable airframes to continue flying long past ours. We will decide how to proceed, but thanks for your input.
Buddies I asked what you meant because your post was literally nonsense. I honestly have no idea what you were trying to say.

Agreed and thanks. Sad it has to be this way, but baseline was set long before. Its not going to change all that much. Personally, I wish you guys had taken second deal around. I'm not going to sit back on principle and watch more planes go to Compass or whoever while ours are going extinct. if I can have a hand in changing it. I'm also not starting over. That's where I'm at, being proactive.

I am glad to see PDT is getting a deal to secure their future. With an aging fleet needing retirement it will be good to see PDT get new A/C. I think PDT will get 20 E175's to start with which will get hiring flowing again and in turn will get PDT the remaining 20 E175's. Hiring will not be an issue sad to say, as Envoy pilots start jumping ship to other carriers. PDT will be flying the 175's and PSA will probably get Envoy's 700's as they start parking 200's. Envoy will be left with 145's and half the fleet size of what they are now.

I don't know who you work for but I fly with a lot of guys who worked for PSA. They flew 727's and 146's up and down the west coast. They all still live out there and commute, what little energy they have left after commuting to red eyes all month is spent on the "overnight", not worrying about the people HR is hiring.
Do your time, GTFO.
Guys, you need to realize once you move on no one gives a $#%^ where you came from. Everyone is just incredibly happy we are hiring more people!
This whole "bettering the industry" is a joke. It's never going to happen. There are more NewCo's, Silver's, Gojet's, etc. around the corner with zero longevity pay/vacation/benefits. Just as fast as they come, they also go. The smart guys realize the commuters have zero leverage and go in with eyes wide open.
How much per hour is the difference in first year pay at the worst regional vs. the best? Maybe $10/hr? In 2016 Meyers could be a 3rd year F/O making almost $160/hr on the 330. The amount of money we are talking about is "peanuts" and I mean that almost literally!
Use the commuters like they use you. Get in, get out.

With all the "advice" you've been spewing, one would assume you knew the difference between the PSA(that flew 727's and 146's), and the one being referred to by Pilot Crusader!

Wow..can't believe to hear so many of you PDT guys willing to throw the profession under the bus. I understand academically why you are doing it, but for this thing to be trending yes is disappointing.
It would be interesting to see how the yes voters will feel if there was say some kind of event 6 months for now, i.e terrorist attack, another big financial conundrum then the economy tanks, AAG freezes hiring and they are stuck at a 5 or 6 year FO payscale for 10 years. I suppose realistically if it went down like that PDT would get shut down but still...think about all the guys you fellas have flown with that came to PDT 20 years ago who were just gonna stay for a few years, upgrade then off to the majors...
You are especially screwing future pilots that may try the PDT flow route then get stuck under that garbage agreement.
Flows are far from iron clad and LOC's for airframes are worth nothing without market growth..
Think this through guys..consider worse case scenario before you vote yes to ratify it. If you are not willing to work under this LOA for 10 years then don't pass it because that's damn well what may happen to you.
