At first it was 1/4 furloughed by MidW mgmt to take the 170s and $$ from RAH. What happened after that is again mgmt. But my main point is its not the RAH pilots its the mgmt that should be getting the bashing here. We are all in the same preverbial boat here. Just like I don't blame mesa pilots I blame mgmt and Legacy scope release for all the whip sawing going on. We need to band together and make a unified statement all the way to the halls of DC if we want change for our profession. No one is going to do it for us. See my other thread.
I too was not blaming the pilots. I was just re-enforcing the point that RAH did not save Midwest. No one can prove that Midwest would be TU without the money RAH provided.
As I said earlier, I support the RAH pilots in their attempt to get the pay rates they deserve. I realize these airplanes were sprung on them. But if they settle for a sub par contract it will be difficult for me to respect them.

They did agree to fly the jets, with up to 99 seats, and pay their FO's only $37/hr. Midwest pilots said screw that, we'd rather not work.

With all the other crap being said about us, this is a statement that I can live with. Yes, we are in negotiations. We will see what we get when we are presented with a TA. For now, just smile and wave boys, just smile and wave.

I'll go ahead and let everyone down a while. The US Airways pilots couldn't even negotiate better rates then we have for 190, (speaking of captain wages in the later years). Not that I don't want it, not that I won't push for it, but there is no way we will get jet blue pay rates for 190's so if you want to start hating, or resume would be a better word, go ahead.

I don't think RAH pilots are hated. With the defeatest, apoligetic attitude you have, you're just not respected. I don't know if you've followed what happened at Jet Blu, but management tried to stall them with the "we need to study this further" BS and the pilots got their attention in just ONE day. I think it's safe to say that respect for JB pilots just went up a few notches,
You've got the bottom 1000 that are Either young bucks or middle aged. The middle aged want things better but only because they might stay. The youngsters are ready to go to bloody war not knowing which end of the sword is sharp.
Can anyone see the problem here? Unity, 3 certificates that don't communicate, a company that doesn't follow the contract we do have and a management who's answer to everything is "if you don't like it quit" because they know someone will take your seat and they even get to pay them less.
You misread me as being defeatist and apologetic. I am in fact neither, I am however a realist. What world is everyone else living in that a regional airline (who has to abide by the railway labor act) is going to get a pay rate better than a stand alone carrier.
First off the pilots at RAH are neither unified enough to get it or stupid enough to vote it in. The second we would get that negotiated someone be it Mesa/GoJet or you name a company will underbid that flying the minute the ink dries on the pilot contract.
So what have we done, ask the pilots of Comair ,Express jet and Midwest how great they sleep at night knowing they stood their ground for a industry leading contract. They'd sleep a lot better knowing their jobs were secure or they didn't have to take concessions to keep them.
Everytime I log on here I see some fool screaming "Jet Blue or better". I just felt it was time someone spoke with some honesty and reality around here. Flip floppers and flamers keep in mind it wasn't 2 weeks/months ago that everyone said Jet Blue sucked too.
Before you hoot and holler, I am not saying for one minute that this is anyone's problem but ours. The problem is once again, all anyone wants to do about it point fingers and cry foul instead of offering anything substantial to rectify the problem.

Just smile and wave????? What is that?
Republic will undercut the profession if they agree to anything (even one penny) under the JetBlue rates for the E190. You will not be marked as a SCAB in future if take the Midwest flying and then undercut the most recent E190 rate negotiated.
Make us proud!
