Imagine the reverse.
Since pilots from these varied companies do move on and up, imagine when a prospect is asked during the interview if he has any opinions of airlines that have policies in place similar, or even pay as low as they do, and when this applicant answers truthfully (because you wouldn't lie in an interview would you ), they are summarily shown the door.
Take this to any level of personal hiring wars that you want too - airlines that certain people don't like and make comments about starting jumpseat wars, etc...

Karma can be ..........

I mean that the guy said that the upgrade would be quick but their contract doesn't allow them to hire direct Captains. I think it's like a training Captain thing maybe, regardless you don't have to pay for training if you're hired into that position.

Well I will be calling him tomorrow! I am not happy. If he is saying I have to fly right seat until my time comes up, then WTH would I go when I make more money as an FO where I am now?

Fair enough, but i doubt everyone on the hiring board will share his prejudice. Regardless I am not in the least bit worried about it.

Very true, but people do not get hired for many reasons and unfortunately some are because of personal opinion. If you feel it is your best option to go there by all means do it.

Agreed, however the flipside of that is many people get hired because of who they know. I'm not going to make a decision based on someone else's prejudice or opinion. Sure it would be nice if all pilot's banded together and demanded better wages and QOL from these companies but that isn't going to happen anytime soon. And while we do help each other out in these forums and out there, the truth is we are also all competing for the next job. I'm not going to go on a single person crusade while the next guy takes the jobs and get's on the seniority list before I do.

Thats what is going on though, I hope you guy realize of the 30 interviewed so far, only 2 have accepted the pay to play, everyone else is passing, hold out folks, rumor is that signing bonuses are close at this place if we keep holding out.

I didn't even know that 2 accepted. They sent me right out of the office when I said I wouldn't do it. Me thinks that what they talked about while I was in lobby is just trying to break me with time. Won't happen though as I'm perfectly happy at my current job. Now I doubt we will see a signing bonus because if they took away the PFT then they could fill a class real easy.

if anyone recently interviewed with GIA I ask you to submit a gouge to the address below. Click on Gulfstream International airlines. I just got the website to enter GIA to their website. They never had GIA in there.

Cruz5350: what happened at the interview? I'm losing a lot of confidence in my interview Monday because it's turning out it isn't true Street Hire Captain. I make $55k as an FO at my current airline and I'd need something in legal writing to confirm I'll get CA seat if I pass a type rating. What was your experience down in FLL Cruz? Were you trying for captain or FO? I have 3600TT 2620 P121 turbofan. U in similar situation? Thanks.
