**** the crew members. This is payback for all the damage Republic pilots did to the industry over the last decade. Did everyone already forget what we did to Midwest? How about what we tried to do to Frontier? Every decent paying regional out there was forced to take concessions or risk being replaced by us. It's going to be painful for those of us that can't move on, but it's entirely deserved.

Ha. Do us all a favor, go ****** yourself, quit the industry, then quit life. Your posts never contain anything other than incessant whining and b!tching about the union and the company. That's all fine, but you cross the line when it comes to the crew members. Tell me how the crew had any direct influence on the Midwest or Frontier deals?? By showing up to work? The crew members are the ones causing this shakedown by not capitulating to management's demands, they could very well be the reason the industry takes the much desired leap forward. All other pilot groups should be rallying behind republic pilots right now as we take the fight to Bedford and Co. So help us in our cause and quit. After that, help other pilot groups by not applying elsewhere. Finally, help the rest of the human race by crawling back into that sh!tty black hole you crawled out of...

You all need to see the bigger picture here. There shouldn't be a regional industry. Not anymore. There is no such thing as a "decent paying regional." We either force management's hand and get industry-leading contracts (in RAH's case...think JetBlue at least), or the regionals start to collapse as pilots leave and no one replaces them.

The pilot shortage is finally really starting to hurt most regionals, and I hope it eventually leads to either near-mainline contracts, or their demise. You can say that other regionals can pick up our flying...but where are they going to find pilots for that growth? The regional pilot pool has dried up.

I can only hope that mainline is eventually forced to take it all back, since either we become nearly as expensive as mainline pilots, or we can't cover our flying. Eventually the 50 seaters should be parked, and anything bigger should be flown by mainline. Whatever we can do to make that happen will hurt temporarily, but will benefit us all in the end. I for one will continue to vote "NO" with this in mind. We regional pilots all need to band together to make this happen instead of continuing all this infighting. This from a RAH 50-seater pilot, FWIW.

The flying will go back to mainline or all regionals' pay will have to go up a minimum of $20k/year to staff this flying.

I'm not sure why anyone would vote in anything less than that in this environment.

Your want all that.... fine. You are going to have to meet the requirements of mainline, which many regional pilots fail. So by dreaming that regional jets be flown by mainline, they will be flown by mainline caliber, mainline interviewed, vetted and trained mainline pilots.

You wanting RJs flown at mainline will end with putting thousands of existing regional pilots on the street as they are not mainline caliber. They may be good enough to fly and RJ at a regional, but not good enough to fly the same RJ at mainline. Those seats are reserved for the traditional mainline candidate..... military pilots and properly educated and experienced civilians, not your typical zero to hero regional "dude".

There're already billions of dollars invested in regional airport infrastructure. Whether they be from "blue" or "red" districts, will the politicians stand still while the regionals shrink to unrealistic schedules, forcing local industry and jobs to relocate elsewhere. I think politicians would want to re-regulate somewhat before a wholesale disruption to the economy occurs.

And what would constitute a properly educated and experienced civilian pilot in your eyes?
