So what is a meaningful degree as defined by you? Political Science, History, Engineering, or English? A 4 year degree IS a 4 year degree. Having one is a statement about a persons maturity, motivation, and perseverance.

And intelligence. Getting an Aeronautical Science degree from the likes of Riddle for a quarter million dollars then getting a regional job that doesn't even require degree is not intelligent.

So, folks from Riddle are not intelligent? Or is putting themselves in an extreme economic hardship a very bad decision?

On that same day, regional pilots flew in and out of the airport as well with no incidents. It doesn't make them better than mainline but regional airline pilots are just as solid in flying in the US. With proper training I don't see how mainline 'caliber' is superior than a regional pilot.
It's got nothing to do with flying ability. Delta doesn't even do a sim evaluation during their interview process. They know that we can all fly airplanes. You need to stand apart somehow other than your flying ability.

Exactly. That's why volunteerism and being active in progressive causes is important to the majors.
