Back on track, Ms. Black just threw every pilot under the bus. I knew the industry was cutthroat, but to do that out in public: basically, whining that " we are paying them more buuut.....". What a nut job.

Or the legacy carriers will shut down the regionals, and transfer the flying to mainline. Like Delta began to do with the 717's.

I was optimistic about this, as well, until Delta exercised their "club option" to extended RAH's 50-seat contract for five years. Now I'm not so sure.

My hope is that Delta is testing the economics of replacing regional feed with smaller mainline aircraft....and that is it wildly successful.

The only reason they exist was because legacy pilots were too proud to fly small planes. Ironically, regionals now fly aircraft sizably comparable to a DC-9, and their routes are anything but "regional." What a twisted industry situation to inherit. Thanks ALPA, thanks old legacy pilots.
Everything you posted is wrong. Flat wrong.

Not jealous, offended at the comments that the regional industry as a whole is less safe than the majors. There are some bottom feeder regionals, but for the most part we have the same training and safety systems in place, and they know it but refuse to admit it. Instead they throw their fellow pilots under the bus to make it look like we're lucky to get from A to B without augering in.

Sorry if I offended you because I have different opinion of your idol, but IMO he has exploited his notoriety to address scope through the guise of safety.

That's a published pay rate. Delta does not pay those rates because it does not operate those planes.

That "rule" is as a result of legislation requiring it, change will be impossible without legislation to change it, good luck finding a politician who will fall on that sword. Decreasing safety to allow airlines more profits by hiring underqualified candidates.
