Currently how far out are the class dates?

I went home 3 times during training. As long as you are responsible with your time during scheduled training days (studying, reviewing, etc.), you’ll be fine. Some people can’t handle the freedom. Be a professional and you’ll be fine.

Just wondering if there were any updates on dates for classes being offered to new hires. I know things have been changing rapidly and was just wondering if I should consider applying now or wait until I could be more confident in selecting a class date (if I manage to get a CJO). Thanks.

My friend started in Oct 2021 and still hasn't finished IOE yet.....going on 5 months now....so while the training start date might not be delayed, the entire process to be released from IOE is at 5 months now.

ETA: Or maybe he’s struggled on OE and been assigned additional flying before being released to the line.

Even with the current 4-6 week delay after LOE, the entire training footprint is only about 3 months. Your friend’s timeline is an outlier or has been fabricated or embellished.

The delays were the instructors took off for Thanksgiving & Christmas. Then the class got hit by Covid. (The Covid delays is not controllable). The vacation delays and lack of LCA to do IOE is something they can control. It is not fabricated. No extra sim sessions were needed. (Note that timeframe includes attending ATP/CTP Class too).

So no, the entire process is not at 5 months now. It was 5 months for your friend who had some very atypical delays.
The current training profile is ~3 months, which includes the completion of OE.

So if the October classes got hit by Thanksgiving & Christmas, so did the November & December classes. RPA doesn’t have enough LCA’s to play catch up to get all those pilots signed off of IOE “at this moment”. So no, at this moment, the training is not 3 months. It is 5-6 months. Once new LCA’s hit the flight deck, hopefully it will go down to 3 months and go down quickly.
