RAH has the highest regional CA rates but yet CAs here take home less then their counterparts. Real cancellation pay and work rules are what are needed.

At my last airline, I made less per hour than I do now but took home more. I never blocked more than 75 hours of flight time there but my average credit was over 100 hours. Most of the guys here at RAH don't understand that real money and QOL increases are made with soft pay and work rules because they have never had it.
Agreed. 100%

Loon is just that. A Loon. He doesn't represent >85% of all RAH pilots.

BB doesn't like his lifer captains, it is actually the opposite. He likes people to come there, work for about 4 years and then leave and be replaced by another worker bee. Right now though, there are not enough pilots willing to work for him or his battle ax HR department.

"I want my senior captains to stay put" -BB town hall ,07/2014
Fellas, I may be a loon, but I speak reality. a regional fo should be a temporary position only. You're letting emotion in.

Loon, I dont always disagree with you, but you're off in this thread. BB has made it clear over the years he does not want senior pilots. It drives up the cost. He needs them now due to inability to hire replacements. Im also curious how you come to the conclusion upgrade times will drop? Where will all of these brand new fos come from?

That was a direct quote. New pilots will come from flight schools. Economy is picking up; flight schools are booked.

Flight schools are booked? Where are your numbers from? How many are US citizens that will stay in the US? How many are foreigners that will get their tickets and go back home? How long will it take those that are staying to get their 1500 hours?

You can't claim that pilots will come simply because the economy is picking up.

The announcement also indicates the Chautauqua operating certificate will be merged with the Shuttle America certificate by end of 2014. In my opinion this opens the door to merge S5 and YX in 2016 when we only have 170s flying around.
Aren't there some things that will restrict an S5/YX merger? Like a it compete clauses?

They will be operated thru an alliance(e.g. star, one-world etc).

Well we'll just have to wait and see. We are recovering from an epic recession; things will return to normal. The flight school by my house is busting out at the seams as are many others, I'm told.

As far as foreign students "returning home": I personally have flown with a handful of them at RAH.This is America(where EVERYBODY wants to be). Few people come here because they wanna leave. I understand that a small percentage of those foreign students have obligations to their nation, but most don't. Just like farmers et al standing on the border taking in illegals, all bb has to do is hold a sign outside these Florida pilot factories and there goes his shortage.
