Well, I got a few responses before it went this route...

Everyone has their reasons for going where they are. Im already 121 and Im making the switch. For me its more money (yes at Republic) and base. Going HOME after work with a little more change in my pocket will increase my QOL. If YOU have a poor QOL here then go ahead and Seek it elsewhere. Id love the step up in seniority.

Unless your home is ind or cmh you may be surprised down the road. Oh the attitude of "if its that bad , quit so that i can move up one" speaks volumes ...i am sure you are going to make some captains day

unless your home is PIT then have fun commuting on reserve for the next year and a half, and Where are you making less than 250 a week after the company finishes taking deductions from your paycheck from a contract that is now 10 years old. but feel free to think its going to be better because they tell you. enjoy the 16 hour duty days

side note,
I would quit but cant get hired anywhere else... sad clown face

New hires won't listen. The drastic attitude changes of new hires once they get a few months of RAH's special brand of airline nightmare is always kind of comical.

Remember. For some, RAH IS a step up. Classmates from Great Lakes come to mind...

What would you like to know? How is the operation running? Like a nightmare. The Q is a MX hog. So when it breaks and they don't have another plane for you, you lose pay. For example, lets say you have a 4 Leg day...EWR-PIT, PIT-EWR, EWR-PVD. And for whatever reason the PIT turn cancels...there is about 2.5 of pay lost. AND you will have to sit for about 4 hours without getting paid. Per our contract, there is a 5 hour rule for getting us a hotel room when the sit is that long. For a mx problem or weather, scheduling will not afford you a room. So get comfy!

OR EVEN BETTER...

Lets use that same example same example but use the EWR special....wx! Lets say you are on day 1 of 4 and you are EWR based. You complete your PIT turn, but then you arrive right before the wx goes to junk. and they cancel your last leg of the day. WELL...since you are an EWR FO, and you are in base, they can turn your 4 day into a DAY trip and back it up with a 3 DAY. ANNNND you guessed it, crew scheduling is NOT obligated to get you a room. SO if you are a commuter (likely) enjoy dropping a good amount of cash on a hotel, or find a spot at the crew room! ***I use this example because it has happened to me and my crew. Lucky for me, I live in base, but my capt and FA's did not, and they had to find a room.

Ok, if was originally a four day... Turned into a day trip leaving you IN base then backed with a three day... Sounds like a four day to me. I see what your saying about the room in this case but if its your base dont you have a crash pad or something? If you dont have a place to stay IN YOUR BASE thats your fault.

Going to a hotel for anything less than 5 hours isnt worth the pain that it is to catch the shuttle, get there, and catch the shuttle right back. IMHO

Other than the not getting paid for the cancellation, which I totally agree is CRAP and should be changed, this sounds like a day where I am now. And Im sure people at Express and Whisky will tell you the same.

Its the same crap EVERY WHERE. When weather pops up your days gonna suck. When your plane breaks. The day is gonna suck.
This doesnt sound like Republic making your life crap it sounds like a bad day being an airline pilot.

I think you get some of my point, but you are missing the big picture. Going to this plane with the MX problems it has and the basing structure that it has makes for a very difficult situation. Yes, bad day as a pilot, but this stuff is happening a lot, so if you can stomach that regular inconvenience then that's your choice. I read about it on our union board all the time now. These new FO's on the Q posting what a sh!t show it is, and how the company is bending them over using the contract against them.

The cancellation pay is a HUGE deal for us on this next contract and on the companies LBFO contract proposal has it 4 years out from TA ratification. This company will not give us cancellation pay because they have been making money hand over fist on our backs for years and don't want to give that up. Other than that, the contract is what it is...OLD. Even Mesa has cancellation pay. I am baffled that people would want to come here when places like XJet, Mesa, SkyWest are hiring. Unless you live in a RAH base, there is no point with all the outstation basing we have.

I have to say, unless you're not employable anywhere else, do yourself a favor and stay away! OR come get the bonus money, and bolt at your next job that comes your way! This place will NOT get better until they give us a better contract. Moral is horrible here.

"Per our contract, there is a 5 hour rule for getting us a hotel room when the sit is that long."

Don't forget that the 5hr. sit must be a scheduled sit in order to qualify, good luck fighting that battle. Been there, done that... The beatings will continue until morale improves!
