I wish that was the case, but ihave one friend there who loves it there, at least the flying. Still riding the pilot thing high and he's been there almost 2 years. Funny thing he was actually at eagle for a few months then got furloughed before getting hired at shuttle. Another who wanted to fly the Q and she is loving that too, been there over a year. Another at shuttle admits it sucks but has no reason enough to leave. Same with another I know. Two in training now, one almost done. Want to see how first year will work for them. I fear SJS is strong with both of them and they will be stuck.

I do not feel that these are isolated stories and explains why people do stay there.

Apparently, you need to find a better class of "friends"...

As someone that flew at shuttle for over 6 years I must say your "friends" must be high as sh*t. There is not one thing enjoyable about that dump except there are good people to fly with.

You're experience at Republic will vary greatly by the certificate, base and equipment you are on, timing, and the amount of movement at the time. The other big factor is if you are commuting to one of RAH's crappy out station bases.

It took me a year and a half before I really started to hate it here. I live in a hub base on the YX 170 and have had relatively quick movement since I started here. So life isn't too bad most of the time but when you have them take away flying from you and not pay you (not even cancelled just give to another crew), you will really grow to hate this company.

Yet you stayed there 6 years... I am just saying that he enjoys the flying enough that it makes up for the things he hates. And thats the important thing when it comes to putting warm bodies in the seats and moving the metal from point A to point b...

Your friends are most welcome here. It's nice to not fly with people who complain non-stop about the very things they agreed to do when they took the job. Republic is just like all the other airlines: some things sre nice and some could be nicer. Spare me the I'm a company guy comments. i'm the biggest advicate for a fair contract and work rule improvements. I was simply raised better than to cry publicly like a baby especially over something I agreed to.

This sums up my experience at RAH precisely. Well said Gmonkey.
Im so happy to be gone. BB deserves to loose this airline.
