Does Frontier hire guys with only the ATP-CTP and Written Test done? Or do they strictly want you to have the full ATP? Also, how junior MIA? Thanks

if you’re not a program pilot then you will need a full or restricted ATP in hand in order to be considered at this time.

Hi! I have an interview coming soon. I did my ppl training in a foreign country and I don't really have an access to my logbook from back then (in fact, there was really not such thing as a logbook + it was in a foreign language anyway). When I moved to the USA, the FAA issued me a foreign based ppl. Since then I continued my training in the States. I know Frontier wants all of the logbooks an endorsements for the interview. I emailed them twice already (about a week ago) but no response since then. Would that be an issue on my interview?

Just explain that with the paperwork issuing your FAA PPL. Makes for an interesting story if anything, use it to your advantage. No two stories are the same.

Yeah but they are really weird about logbooks, for some reason. Everyone in my group was some level of ATP, most of us still got called over for logbook scrutiny. I had my original ragged book (the first little one you get as a PPL), the bigger Jepp that I took better care of, and a professional bound print of my full digital logbooks. They have me a hard time because that first crusty old logbook “didn’t have some things filled out.” As in, that silly info page in the front. It didn’t have my name, address (from 2014 no less, so like 3 addresses ago?), and the milestones weren’t filled out (the rows for listing endorsements, checkrides, and dates). Never been an issue at 2 regionals and 2 majors interviews, but this ratty old logbook I hadn’t touched in 5 years needs to be completely filled since it’s “an official federal document” or whatever.

I hope they see FAA certificates for that guy and infer that he obviously has the hours and qualifications. But I’d also be prepared for a lot of questions. The day is stressful enough as it is without your logbook validity being questioned.

On the other hand, if you don't have it, you don't have it, any response from F9 won't give you a logbook. They want it. Maybe it will be an issue, maybe it won't. Where does your current logbook start? 0 hours?

I would do everything you can to get in touch with someone from F9 before you show up. I watched a senior LCA at my regional get shown the door because he had separate logbooks for his PPL and Instrument, and both logbooks started at 0 time due to the way his university kept records. He had over 10,000 hours in a jet, along with many years as a LCA. He was essentially told “thanks but no thanks, because those logbooks from your primary training don’t work for us.” Of course, he was invited to apply again in 6 months when he had his logbooks from 20 years ago straightened out.

Absurdity. Just make sure you don’t waste your time/money getting to Denver just for it to turn into a problem when you get here.

And I would highly recommend not taking advice from an anonymous person on the internet who knows someone who claimed this or that or the next thing happened at his/her interview. Go to your interview with your logbooks and explain the situation.
