Quote: Really excited to be joining the X team! Got the call a few weeks ago. Can anybody share some of their experiences with the actual training? Is the Challenger 350 training in NJ? Is it all sim or do you get actual flights? 3-4 weeks total time? Looking forward to meeting and flying with you guys. Cheers.
I’m on the 300. Training is 16 days (18 with travel days). I know the one 350 guy in our class is going with us to 300 and then will stay for 350 differences. Morristown is the place. I can’t speak to much for the crew recourses side. There are some major differences. After training you will start your rotation with a minimum 5 days off. You will fly with a stands captain for IOE. Once they feel you are ready you will do your .299 ride with the check airman in the airplane.

Peabody, I haven’t forgotten about you man. Just been super busy. I will shoot you a text Sunday.

You don’t do a 299 ride as a first officer new hire. They only do those when you are going for captain.

My mistake. Good catch. I’m coming from 15 years of 135 single pilot. So I’m new to the whole FO bit.

Be careful. I had a guy in my NetJets new hire class who lots of single pilot time in the Citation Ultra, and that happened to be the Jet my class was assigned to. He had very little (if any) multi crew time thou. He knew the jet inside out but almost washed out of training due to being unfamiliar with working as a crew and using SOP's like NetJets was really big on. Working as a crew with a carrier that has fairly strict SOP's can be a major culture shock for someone coming from a single pilot operation.

I get that. I do have some crew experience though. Just not a whole lot. I’m willing to learn though.

This is for anybody that's had an interview somewhat recently: Was there anything that you should've brought to the interview that you didn't, or things you did bring that were unnecessary? Trying to pack smart but light... thanks!

I took 6 copies of my resume and gave them out to each person. In the email they will tell you what to bring. Just stick to that and you are good to go.

Interview Done
Got the interview done in CA this week. As reported by others. Very pleasant and professional experience and everyone I encountered seems genuinely happy there. Don't know if I got the job or not yet (takes about a week), but I'm glad I had the experience anyway.

Anybody that's currently there have any updates on how they're enjoying it (or not)?

Hiring Minimums
Evening everyone, first post here but I’ve read through most of this forum for quite a while. I’ve noticed that plenty of people applying and getting offers from XO have time way over the mins. I know their mins are posted but what are they generally hiring at these days? I still have 6 months on my contract at a 135, expecting about 1800TT with 800 multi turbine (all CE525 SIC) once May rolls around. Just curious if they’re eyeing those with more TT or in larger cabin aircraft. Thanks to all of you for sharing your experiences, it’s great to see everyone’s encouragement here.
