nah. get serious, envoy to return back to lax, there old hub and base. stop those drugs now.
Quote: When I was hired in the Fall of 2013, my seniority number was 3,3XX...that's a net gain of 200.
Right. Given the average attrition, 28 per month, that's approximately 800 pilots added over the past 2 years. For a pilot "shortage" they seem to be doing okay in the hiring department.

Has Skywest ever had this many pilots on the seniority list?

Not sure, maybe some of the senior guys can chime in.

Never said LAX, did I...I said West Coast? However, only time will tell.
Quote: It looks like the LA people are the losers here yet on the last bid they transferred a boatload of people into that base. I think there's a part two to this story.

FaceBiter's Part Two story - Compass moves out of LAX and SkyWest does flying of 4 900s and 19 175s under the Delta banner.

Quote: That would be what I heard, from the same guy who spelled out the LA/PHX switcheroo a month or so ago.

One of my LA Bro's said they just created a second ACP position and are telling people to not worry about the 200's. At the start of next year it won't matter.
Can you elaborate?
The rejection of a pay raise has made SKYW less expensive indefinitely, so getting new contracts may be easier. CC, MT, "Please don't throw me into that briar patch."
Skywest has always done a good job of finding work. I am not concerned.

Sucks for my LA brothers but I think things will work out. I doubt anyone will be displaced. Hopefully it'll help with staffing some of the eastern bases a bit
Quote: I think NVUS made a good point regarding the timeframe, but I also think you are on the right track.

A lot of pilots are being hired.
Most of the guys / gals I know are being awarded 85 to 100 hours of flying per month with about 9 days off. Losing some airplanes, gaining pilots (3500+) will hopefully result in an improved QOL.

We currently have 20? E-175s with UAL. Seems the staffing ratio is 1:7 (one airplane: seven crews). We are supposed start E175 service (7 aircraft) with AS soon. We still have an additional 40? E175 slots pending (no contract for them).

I do not believe the loss of 12 aircraft will affect Skywest as a whole, but there may be some domicile tightening, although the company has not historically forced a domicile change.

Should be interesting.
Feel free to correct the numbers where necessary.

Is the 9 days off correct? If so, yikes!
I've never heard anyone being awarded only 9 days off. Also a lot of guys think there is all this Alaska flying to be had... Don't count on that, my best guess is maybe a few more planes on top of the original 7.
