Those of you thinking a lack of new hires will squeeze management should rethink that strategy. Air Wisconsin has been in that boat for a few years now. Cancelling dozens of flights every day, giving flying away to other regionals, junior manning everyone repeatedly. Its ugly. What was managements offer during all this? 1% 2 years from now.

Dont think a lack of new hires is going to change anyones mind. They'll just work the rest of you to death and call it teamwork culture. Meanwhile theyre saving millions on ancillary costs when it comes to staffing an airline with pilots.

Long story short, dont blame the new hires for showing up and dont think a lack of new hires will give you any additional leverage.

Is Air Wisconsin's compensation close to 50% less than the other regionals? Are other regionals having trouble finding new hires? Did Air wisconsin offer more money to get people through the door?.....?

No. That doesn't change the fact that in the past six months Air Wisconsin has managed to net a whole 20 pilots. Endeavor has a line out the door and down the block. Air Wisconsin is struggling to fill classes and given the TA that was announced no one in management is interested in changing the status quo. For over a year we were losing 20, 30, 40 pilots a month without a single new hire class. We thought a lack of new hires would incentivize our management to provide a reasonable offer. We were wrong.

Were in a similar boat so I truly understand what you guys are going through. I just dont want new hires being blamed for lack of progress because there would be no progress anyway. Your opponents are in Denver 'poking the bear' Not the guys and gals walking in the door from a regional.

Ugh
No upgrades in the latest staffing adjustment. Upgrades are getting ready to go 5-7 years min. Do not buy the 3 year upgrade sell. Ain't gonna happen.

Today's vacancy is just to place the new hire class. The new hires are not eligible to upgrade, so just take a chill pill. We grow much much faster next year than this year. I suspect upgrade time will get shorter, not longer.

Nobody is blaming the new hires we are warning them of what a s show this place is. I want all new hires to fully know what they are getting into, what is indisputably the bottom of the barrel narrow body 121 operator. After exploring all their options if they truly think this is the only place that will take them I welcome them warmly, albeit I feel sorry for them. However, your comparison is apples to oranges and not valid.

I agree, 100% correct.

Aero, usually I agree with your cautious optimism, but the fact that we have zero captain upgrades in the latest VSA with how short staffed we are in every single base is puzzling to say the least.

Probably has more to do with things like sim availability and keeping the work load of the training department low for July than anything else. That class schedule that was floating around from several months ago never had a July upgrade planned either.

So how in the world are they going to be doing 30/month starting in October? This is going to get ugly!
