Anyone know if the NYC bases have high speeds (naps, whatever you guys call them)? Are they a line?

Not sure what you are talking about. Better description might help out.

Late duty ins (1900 or later), fly the outbound leg, sleep a few hours in a hotel and fly the return leg early in the morning. We used to call them nap lines, some places call them stand-ups or high-speeds. Usually now it's 3 nights (4 duty days) and then off 4 nights.

We call them CDOs (continous duty overnights). And the answer is no. We had them a while for DFW 145s, but they are gone now. The company doesn't like them.

They are back this month in DFW for 145 and they are consistently in ORD

Would getting an interview/job offer be a challenge?
Training?

Just dipping my toes in the pool at the moment trying to gauge the temperature.

I have been out for 9+ years. Looked into coming back several months ago and received offers to interview from SkyWest, MESA, and Envoy. It took about a day for each to respond. I used to fly for both SkyWest and American Eagle. SkyWest and Envoy recommended that I do some IFR sim training prior to interview. My jump from VFR 172 instructor to ERJ FO was a challenging one. The jump from out of practice FO back to flying will not be as difficult. Still on the fence about when/if I will ever come back as every couple months pay is going up and the wait to move on gets shorter.

How does a composite line look like? Is it half of the month on reserve and the rest is a line, or is it intermixed? When is it built and how the days off determined?

They build you a line and then you also have 2-3 RSV days as well. As soon as the monthly bid is awarded you email Swaps and Drops with any preference you have for days off. You may or may not get days off you request when they build the line. They build the composite lines during the time between the ATTOT window closing and the 48 hr window opening.
