my understanding is that the construction is causing OO to have to replace the 175 with CRJ due to the new gates we have cannot accommodate the 175.

this is what I’m thinking is happening in ORD as well…

This is unfortunately correct, expected to continue for the next 4-6 months. Delta had to put those mainline jets somewhere with the construction around the G gates. So they unsurprisingly picked the C gates, which is the ERJ gates, ERJ’s can’t fit back in the A and B gates. Not to mention MSP is a business travel connection hub for the 175, and business travel ain’t booming.

We went from over 4,000 hours of block last summer for Delta, to I want to say, 750 Delta 700 United on the 175 out of MSP this month, all the Delta 175’s went west. The CRJ has taken the flying the ERJ lost.

I was a CA transition last winter, the company spent all this money to transition MSP CRJ FO’s and CA’s over to the ERJ preparing for something that not only never happened, but the flying actually has decreased significantly.

They also recently awarded transfers to all the CRJ pilots back to MSP that were kicked out of MSP because of low seniority only a few months ago.

A jet is a jet for logging turbine time you’re correct. A CRJ 200 is not a jet on a summer day in Houston, it’s a flying sauna.

But don’t you worry, you’ll be popping that cherry in no time big guy 😀.

The last system RSR report has the details around this. Has more to do with positioning spare aircraft than it does gate usage in MSP.

Its correct. Exactly what it said.

So either you didn’t read it or you’re not an OO line pilot and thus didn’t receive it.
