Yes, you pick which aircraft at the time they offer your CJO and then they discuss the training dates that are available.

Fresno is on the small side as far as bases go. I haven't heard anyone getting it directly out of training as most have gone to the larger bases on the CRJ side. My class was all MSP, ORD, and DTW for initial awards. As with anything, lot's of turnover expected as FO's upgrade and CA/FO's leave for the bigger airlines. Shouldn't be that hard to hold after a few months out of training.

In my class on the crj that’s currently in sims, we had about 3 people get FAT right out of training so it’s definitely a possibility if that’s what you want

Negotiations take place towards the end of this year and new pay rates should be in effect around the beginning of 2023. Don’t worry, we’re all noobs and here to help each other. Ask away with any questions you have!

Default Initial Training

Thanks for the responses. Also, for the initial CRJ ground school training, is it done in the 200 first and then a differences 700 class later? Or is it something different?

yes, initial is on the 200 and after your LOE you do one day of difference training with a day or two in the sims.

Wow, we must be in the class right behind yours (we're also currently in sims). We have several from the central/northern California area that are trying to get back home and ended up in Chicago. They had FAT and SFO listed along with LAX. Just goes to show, it's all about timing. Hopefully they can get further west in a few months, as they aren't interested in moving.

A big late to answer your question but keep in mind sim schedules right now fluctuate widely after you bid. Instructors getting COVID, students getting COVID, instructors getting hired elsewhere, etc. (Insert Paris sims in the etc. as well).

You may get lucky but given the situation in the school house right now you are going to need to be flexible and expect changes.

That’s some really great insight you’ve offered up. COVID is constantly altering schedules in every industry and we all need to remain very flexible and expect changes. When I enter training, my plan is to keep all of my energy on studying and stay out in front of the wave of info being given to me. And then with a coffee in my hand and a patient attitude, see how things unfold each day regarding changes in the schedule. With the right attitude, it becomes a lot easier to make it through. With the wrong attitude, someone could waste tons of energy that could have been productively spent elsewhere.
