Years ago it was uncommon to lose people in new hire training either. My class of 30 lost 2 in sim and one on IOE. Up until recently if you couldn't finish IOE by 50 hours they got rid of you. Typically you were only scheduled for 30 hours or so. 6 days of flying.
From 2002-2007 the experience level of the new hire classes were much hirer. A large percentage were coming from other airlines. (we probably have more Mesa pilots than Mesa.)
With the minimums at 25 hours of multi time now, things have changed.
Ironically, I heard it was the systems test getting people and not the sim/ioe.

Would any SkyWest pilot be able to post an update to the most current pay/benifits? Maybe something like this post?

Anyone correct and or add if I'm wrong or omitting anything.

Second on this question, it would be really helpful information. I've spent a couple hours on the phone with a recruiter and a couple FO's and none can tell me any thing more than "first year FO is $30/hr". What about the ancillary stuff like insurance, retire, etc and credits?

The answer is seasonal. If you were hired in the early spring and came online for summer... no reserve. At least for many mid-seniority bases there were no reserves, just those finishing training who were built reserve lines. With fall upon us, the schedules get reduced and now most bases have a fair number of reserve lines. It just depends.
