Delta is just about maxed out on large RJs. Just because they're getting rid of the 50 seaters doesn't mean they can replace that lift with as many large RJs as they want. They are very close, maybe around 15-30 more large RJs, to maxing out. I wouldn't call that "plenty of room to expand". Also, why would you want them to expand? I don't know about you but it would be great if Delta increased their mainline fleet, shrunk DCI, and offered more mainline jobs.
And don't go getting all preachy about mainline taking back their flying. You've been the most giddy cheerleader of Compass growing by 50% over the next year.

Delta is capped out on 70-seat RJs, but they still have room on the 76-seats. So let's break it down. Delta can have up to 325 total large RJs. Of those 325, only 102 can be of the 70-seat variety. Looks to me like Delta has plenty of room to move. And any room is more room than United has for the foreseeable future. Right?

It's inconsequential. The point was that they can replace up to 102 70-seat RJs with 102 76-seat RJs. It's their choice.
However, with the rate resets due for Q3 2015, you wont see any announcements for Delta RFPs until afterwards. I would guess that any potential growth or transitions would start Q1 2016 at the earliest.

SkyWest's big problem is their costs. Delta or anyone else for that matter isn't going to look at placing aircraft at SkyWest until their rates are more competitive with Mesa or Compass. Until SkyWest addresses this problem, I don't see much more additional flying in their future. They can't just ride along on their reputation forever.

Compass has 42 aircraft flying for Delta, 38 175 and 6 170... so 25 from the maximum. That's not a lot of room.

So what are you going to do to help the company get their costs in line with Compass and Endeavor? How about voting in a 12/4 cap. Shouldn't be a big deal for you, as you'll never be here long enough to cap out, right? You'll be moving on to a "real airline" soon, right? Or you could just FUPM and burn it down on your way out.
SkyWest is SOOOOOO expensive that they pulled in a $140M profit last year. What they need to do is figure out how to make money on the ExpressJet side so they can afford to cut "costs" on the SkyWest side. Right now they need every bit of that $140M profit to cover ExpressJet's loses.

I do know the 170's are outfitted with 69 seats, but I also know that they have more than the 39 aircraft you stated... so, who doesn't know what they are talking about?
Yes they are too expensive. The money they made were on CURRENT contracts, not new ones. They aren't going to be able to obtain NEW contracts because their CURRENT costs are TOO high... you need to look ahead to the future. Hell, maybe you are in denial, who knows?

You just like to argue to argue huh? Did you know that Compass' E-170s were only outfitted with 69 seats, and therefore they are counted in the maxed out 102 70-seat section of the Delta scope and not the 76-seat section of the Delta scope. Again, you have no clue what you are talking about.

One List the companies and get rid of all the duplication. Done!
