Good. Maybe we can get a real TA around here then.

Interesting. Sounds smart.

Wait, captain on captain training partners? Hahaha.

I was. Why would they go through the costs of getting a 175 certificate for 9E when there’s three other Delta Connection carriers with it already set up ready to do that flying?

I suspect:
1 they want 175 capability in-house. It will attract SJS applicants
2 Compass will eventually lose the DL contract.
3 they need a 2nd west coast player and don't want to put all eggs in the OO basket. Can you imagine the pull of a 9E west coast option with 175? I assume they rather task 9E with it than YX.

Upgrades are on a different footprint then NH’s. Less sims/grnd. So yes. No CA/FO pair unless they are “transition” upgrades. And going through the full course.. we even have a few NH short course guys. (Already typed in the CRJ)

Imagine what we could do with real representation?

I still cannot believe the last TA passed. The lifers got their higher 401k and the rest of us got nothing. All we heard from both the company and our SAPA president was the idea of growth, fast upgrades, and the health of the company. Well, less than a year later we have a net loss of 8 pilots and the company metering upgrades. 83 pilots gone and, to me, the real telling part is 46% of them were FOs. The DVR said there were 40 captain slots open this month and only 25 were awarded.

So much for growth.

Any rough idea how long it would take a new-hire to ATL to be able to hold a line there?

What is the best metric to look at to determine stuff like that? (I'm new to the 121 world).

While I don’t disagree with most of what you said, I see 33 upgrades awarded. DVR vacancies are not just upgrades. Transfer/transitions take up some of that while allowing other bases to right size (shrink).

I’ve hung my neck out, only to be nearly fired. SkyWest is in a “right to work” state, and can fire for no reason at all, and have many times.

Could you elaborate on this any more? I'm a pretty vocal pro-union guy. However, I've always always had a high level of respect for upper management here. I have a hard time believing they would be stupid enough to make (illegal) threats about job status.
