Cheers!
Without going into super long detail, the Basic family plan ($2,600 deductible) runs about $125 bi-weekly and the Value family plan ($1000 deductible) runs about $80 bi-weekly.
Skywest HSA contributions are $1000 for family plans.

Semi-Monthly paycheck for just the PPO health for a family is $233.90 per paycheck... If you're going to get an insurance for a family it's smarter to do this since kids tend to break things and do stupid stuff or if someone in the family has a reoccurring medical issue. $1000 deductible.

Speaking of Health Cover, What would it cost for a couple wanting to have a baby? What ballpark figure would it cost to then deliver the baby?

In the bases, I'm looking to choose a CRJ base where I can stay at with lots of hours, short time to holding a line and quick upgrade/where I'd be based after upgrade. If there is a mix of 2/7/900 would be good too. Any Ideas? Just did the OO CTP Course and Starting Ground 11/7. I was thinking MSP but seems a long wait after IOE now?

Thank you

They have beat this horse to death. The chdp is cheaper and has the same max out of pocket as the ppo. I have had my family on both and the ppo is not worth the price along with the fact that the company pays us $1000 to have the chdp.

The IOE wait will be everywhere. Chicago or MSP are going to be your best bet for what you describe.

As far as having the baby it depends on the insurance you have. My last I had the chdp and I spent about $3500 including the deductible, but it varies a lot depending on location and type of delivery. On the website they have a health care cost estimator that works really well that will put you in the ball park.

You should want to max out your HSA/year. So you should be looking at about $750 monthly doing that.

Our kids made us hit the max out of pocket. 10k at the time.

Anyone care to expand on this policy? My buddy was hired back in 2010. He left and now was recently re-hired. Would he be eligible for this new policy?

Get based in any of the California bases, and when the baby comes you will get paid by the state for baby bonding. I took the full six weeks and was paid based on my best quarter at 66%. I did not live in the state, but was based in Fresno.

Thanks for all the info. Kinda scary for those of us living in civilized countries that have nationalized health systems...
