Well first off 40 x 128 is 1120 and even including perf and quaterly bonuses it doesnt come near what other regionals are offering first year FO's or CA's in terms of compensation via bonus. Further your disqualifying statement of myself having NOT ( your right ) been at other regionals though being just fodder for flame makes an interesting point. For whatever reasons skw may have in fact been the place to hang your hat well things change. These two policies put in place are in my view of course minute attempts to appease a pilot group who is simply under compensated in todays market. Ill reiterate again that they only really help to benefit skw who I think going forward will be the group who is in fact no longer filling classes to the level they want because simply of money for a new hire. They are disguised to look beneficial as if the company cares but the reality is they are just saving themselves and protecting the product they have to offer to the majors going forward.
As far as work rules/soft pay/QOL go, Skywest is above the rest.

Lol the ink isn't even dry on the AA WO new compensation and you are hemming and hawing about how underpaid we are at Skywest? Relax. Skywest will increase compensation to stay competitive in the next contract.

As long as I am flying for cheap in a regional then no I wont be relaxed and I like to call out what it is when it is.
Thanks for your input.

Most regional (or major) airline pilots don't care about first year pay or sign-on bonuses. That's the company's problem with regard to recruiting. Once on the seniority list, pilots are concerned with long-term compensation and stability.
I suggest you go try a regional that has a big sign-on bonus instead of SKW (just hope to God you don't get stuck there). There's a reason for those bonuses. Enjoy.

All regionals are under compensated, that's the whole point.

No, the time frame does not line up for the "soft-landing" benefit to have an ounce of anything to do with AA WO recent first-year bumps.
Look at the document yourself, that final draft was dated this Spring. Understand the leg work started long before that.

Well both the soft landing or AA's pay bumps were not crafted in a night obviously. From my view company A has a strategy style and company B has another. One will get compensated more and the other less. We should be getting the same as they and people should not be confusing the soft landing as a real benefit. Check my first post as this is the consistent point.

Never said it was better at AA if you could find that for me and requote me please. I have only been pointing out what these new policies at skw really are. You have an issue with that ? Ok, but I'm looking for us all at skw to get compensated correctly and not get their streams crossed with these "amazing" benefits for the skw pilot group which is what I was responding too.
But thanks.
