Maybe it explains why other regional pilots think SkyWest pilots are drinking the Kool Aid, when in reality things are actually better at SkyWest?

I'm just grateful that the program is in place but based on your style I guess you don't understand gratitude.

But if was getting on your level, I washed out of your mom.

It doesn't do much for them if you only have 1 reserve day by itself.
Thanks!

If anyone feels like helping with some more basic reserve questions:
  • Deferring notification - assuming a 0900-2100 RAP, does this mean I can turn off my phone at 1900 and go commute home without telling anyone? I'm trying to understand this (and whether it's something I need to request) vs. asking for an early release.
  • Should I offer to sit Ready Reserve to increase the probability of me getting assigned a trip?
  • Can I request to sit reserve in a different domicile (I'm commuting to reserve) if it looks like the other domicile is shorter on reserves and have any reasonable chance of them approving that?
  • Anything else I can do to increase the probability of getting assigned a trip, aside from changing my "call first" preference?

1) Request to sit ready if you don't want a trip assigned lol...they hardly ever use readies, and I don't have the slightest clue as to why

2) the best thing you can do to increase chances of assignment is bid long call in PBS...if your not senior enough to hold long call, there isn't much you can do other than have a very good understanding of the bucket system and watch the reserve page from day to day and make sure they don't go out of order when they assign a trip.

That doesn't apply to captains. Readies are always used

Does that include Captains on the E175 based in ORD?

Default Reserve Horizon vs Skywest

I know reserve is going to suck regardless. I am trying to make the best decision possible between these 2. I live in Sacramento will at least try a commute for a little while while on reserve. I know its not recommended, but between these 2, who will give me more days off between reserve days? Thanks in advance for any advice given.

Reserve will be 100% the same. If you're a commuter, go crj. Erj reserve is serious

Go CRJ. You won't be on reserve. Commuting to Detroit on the other hand won't be great.

Go ERJ. And, you will be commuting to SFO out of IOE or shortly afterwards. But, on reserve.

Where are you trying to be based? Are you trying to remain in SMF? That doesn't sound like a good plan.

So they signed a bad contract where they have lost money for a decade while you an employee have made money for a decade?

Why would any business continue this arrangement?
Why would any successful business enter into said agreement to start with?
