But seriously, there are good amount of lifers at all of the current stable regionals. To no fault of their own, the last 25 years have been brutal for people trying to get to the Major level. I hope the best for all of them, and hope they can finish their careers at the seniority level they deserve. So many new people take for granted the current environment, like it's normal. That is where I have an issue with my "generation" of pilots, nothing is guaranteed but this is as close as it gets. The next ten years NO regional will be safe, just not enough people entering the industry comapred to those retiring. Making guys like me who don't feel like they're tier 1 or hell even tier 3 a little nervous!
Good post. And thanks for getting us back on topic..

You must be trolling with that.
You are telling other people to take advantage of the pilot shortage opportunity?!

1%
That is all.
Literally.

Cute. The “Metallica” song is actually a 5 song medley/tribute/cover originally played by the early 80s band Mercyful Fate

No, it's not great, but still a little better than before. I voted no because I wanted a little more negotiation, but realize it's still a regional and we're a subcontractor who has to keep our rates competitive to secure long term contracts. I think it sucks that it didn't go to negotiation, but now that we're past that, I realize the company will do what they want anyways. Regional flying is dying, whether you see that or not, and anything we can secure right now for four major partners within the next few years is good. If we all wanted, we can price ourselves right out of business. Pay big bonuses to new hires who'll leave soon, raise pay 10% or more, and pay profit sharing on top of that, we'd close up shop during the next economic downturn.

I've read many of your previous posts and all you do is blame pilots for what management decided on. Get over it. It is what it is and many here at Skywest are looking long term at a dying side of flying. It's not about big money right now, it's about securing jobs for as long as possible. Most here like their jobs, like being based out west, like their QOL, and want to stay here both short term or long term. And please.......don't give me the stupid worn-out crap talk about how pilots have power with their feet or some garbage like that. Many of us who've been in this industry 20 years or longer know that management will find someone else to replace those who walk. I'd rather be here with a job right now making more than I've ever made from any flying job versus being on the street right now.

You honestly sound Like someone with Stockholm syndrome already. Right now, the regional industry is being disrupted. And pilots voting with their feet is helping that. Regional flying will not completely go away. I believe that the ones that are able to attract pilots are the ones who will be the most successful. This has nothing to do with whether you like it there or not. I like where I am but that doesn’t mean it cannot be better. But I understand that management has their fiduciary duty to shareholders first. It’s their job and as best as I can, I try not to take it too personal. It just means that only pilots are able to truly look out for pilots. No one else will. I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s disappointing when this pilot group repeatedly underperforms in the one area that the most successful regional ever should allow them to succeed. No one is talking about being unreasonable. Republic was the first to go with their vastly increased pay rates, despite your doom and gloom of pilots getting paid fairly. Skywest was next and passed. Now endeavor got their huge pay raises. Right now, Skywest is the outlier, the other way around. Even if you look at all the other regionals, they all have a combination of either retention/signing bonuses, high pay rates, career progression, and fast upgrade. Skywest isn’t far from having three of those. I believe that this pay package will be insufficient and they’ll come back and up the ante for new hires. And that was the basis of my comment of management having the best of both worlds.

And my point was that that wasn’t your argument before the endeavor TA passed. Now you are singing a different tune.

By the way, it was you who agreed with me with how pathetic your vacation and sick accrual is compared with all the other regionals. Now you’ve changed your tune on that as well?

Yes. I was for the TA. I knew the No vote ramifications... (look at ASA, things would look different as we would be piggy backing that road). And yes i hate the whole Vacation program here.. other then that. Im happy..

Yes he can. YOU own what you post. HE doesn't own everything that the band, which may or may not be the inspiration for his user name, has ever said, done, or created. This is the wrong place for SJW BS.

Perhaps, but combine an economic 'correction' with age 67 and a loosening of the ATP and that will undoubtedly add a few years to each pilots game plan. EDV has a core of pilots who've been around for a good two decades and given it their all, so I'm glad to see them compensated.
