Virtual interview to be scheduled soon.
What type of questions are asked in the virtual interview? Is it a lot of TMAAT and WWYD questions just like the in person interview that one should prep for? Do many get get a thanks but no thanks after the virtual interview? Or is it more of a easy going tell me about yourself and get to know you type of session that most pass? Thanks in advance!

The virtual was just "tell us about you", "why Southwest?" and "Can you handle being an FO again?" type questions. I suppose it is somewhat stressful waiting the couple of weeks to find out if you got the job or not, though.
That being said, it is my understanding that they have just revamped the process so that they DO ask TMAAT questions during the virtual, but I don't have any confirmation of that. Maybe someone who interviewed recently can confirm.
Relax. Be yourself. Be patient.

Dear lord. I hope our hiring process is in the process of getting streamlined. 7 months from app window to class? That needs to get cut way way way down.
Welcome to all of the new hires. I am glad you are here. Take about 50-60 percent of what you see on this website with a giant grain of salt. SWA is still a great place to work and will continue to be despite our many warts.

This might be an odd question, but given that SWA will be at the Women in Aviation conference, would it be uncooth for a person of the male demographic to go to this? Never been to any of these conferences before and wanted to make sure I am not doing something wrong.

Nothing uncouth about it. You’re supporting the cause by being there.

I think managing expectations is a big factor. The big things here are long upgrade times, possible west coast basing for a while and the 737 isn't going anywhere is a big thing to understand prior to starting in class. If those don't bother you then its a pretty dang good job.

You distilled it down to the three primary things that aren't perfect. Luckily for me, they're all low on my list. I've been a PIC in a few different kinds of operations. Being a long time FO will be just fine. I think Especially considering that it seems like most of the Captains are pretty decent and the combination of rates and work rules will make my paycheck just fine.
On that note: don't worry all you long timers, I won't get too caught up with the "psychic wage" and vote yes on the first thing I see. I'll evaluate and listen to you guys too, I promise.
As far as being west, well I'm hoping for DEN where there's lots of growth. Will hopefully get it soon. Flying the 73 for the rest of my career? I don't know. I might get tired of it. So I'll finally go do some aerobatic stuff or get my seaplane rating to keep it interesting.

Hoping the next contract fixes a bunch fo stuff so we can look attractive VS FDX/Legacy stuff.
The final issue is yes, we work hard for our money, and that should be reflected not be EQUAL in pay to XXY airline, but ABOVE them by a large margin. We sit and wait...
Welcome aboard~
