First off congrats on getting to the point of an AIP it means that the Company offer has improved enough that the NC and the MEC feel that it is worth bringing to you for a vote. Your vote is extremely important. It may effect your entire career. Remember it is your vote.
Take into account work rule changes that may or may not be regained once lost. Sit down with the full TA language and read it all, digest it a bit and read it again with a notebook, pen, and calculator handy. Do the math until you have flashbacks of High School Math homework. Ask your coworkers about how they feel about it, go to the roadshow events, ask questions, call or write your NC or MEC officers, don’t take disagreements personally, try to gain perspective from pilots that are in a different financial position than you are and realize that you may have different objectives with regards to where you are at in your life. Realize some have been beaten up by the industry while others haven’t. You may or may not wish to share your yes or no vote and that is fine. Talk to your spouse, SO, friends etc and ask for their opinion. Lastly remember that the leverage you hold is very real right now and if they can’t fill classes and eventually start to cancel flights they will come to you with improvements over the current offer. Is waiting a gamble? Maybe.
Really we wish all of our fellow pilots at Spirit the best. Good luck guy and gals.

Kelly has warned his boys ULCC’s are the biggest threat to their business.
Spirit continues to compete and grow in SWA markets.
Why? They’re easy pickings. SWA is no longer an LCC.
They also have no way of raising revenue through ancillary streams.
This is just the beginning.

Best of luck Spirit pilots. Vote how YOU see best.

But go back a few pages and see where it was posted that;
“Spirit raised the bar and got the highest rates in the industry after the strike”
Only to realize he wasn’t correct in that, then taking the stance of;
“Well, I’ll change it to Spirit got the highest Airbus rates in the industry”
Which I’m STILL waiting to be proven.

This question also is targeted at all the legacy pilots pilots telling us this AIP is garbage. What have you all given away to get your rates?
With they way mediation went, my guess is it would be another 2 years at poverty wages for a measly $10 more an hour. The loss will not be recovered and many things may change for the worse, two years is a long ways off and a lot can change in this industry in that time. It’s definitely worth waiting to read the full TA prior to making a decision, but so far I think it’s a pass. Keep most of our QOL, FO’s on second year pay clearing $100k without working extra, and all CA’s will be clearing well over $200k. Discount pilots? No.

Well, he’s not providing facts.
And sorry, not now. But who cares?
You’re right, who cares?
Except when someone is butthurt and making up their own facts that a certain carrier had the “industry’s highest rates” and “raised the bar” because they can’t take the FACT that it’s simply NOT TRUE.
See above, only facts (enlightening) are being provided.
All your questions can be answered in the contract comparison documents. Which I’m SURE you read.
I NEVER made it about “my Airline is better than yours”. That was MoP’s deal.

How much of your hourly rates are based off selling scope? What percentage of your airline’s daily departures are operated by United pilots? Has your airline ever gotten a raise on DOS of 43% and 50%+ over the life of the contract, plus a DC of 11%-15%. We strengthen our scope, LTD, retirement, pay, rigs, add long call reserve, and keep red/green, four days off between trips, vacation, and industry leading healthcare. The only perceived concession is PBS, but it appears our union is handling that rather well. Which the big 3 all already have, so there’s not much that can be said about that.
