This quote could easily be from 12 years ago, yet sadly, here we are again...still.

Possibly. How often do these meltdowns occur? Once every 2-3 years? I am sure they have a bean counter who determines how often these huge IROPs occur, and how much revenue it costs each time it happens, and they have probably determined it costs less to meltdown every 2-3 years and reboot than it does to pay for extra people when they aren't needed the entire year.

No different than weighing what the cost of carrying g extra fuel is vs lower min landing fuel numbers and what a diversion costs. They know all these numbers. Sadly it factors into their decision making

Anyone care to speculate how much effect this meltdown will have on our profit sharing checks?

Bahahaha. Dude, SWA is literally 4X the size of NK and our IT is utterly pathetic. In fact, it’s probably the biggest running joke at the airline amongst crew members.

The point is, don’t expect your growth to stop just because your IT sucks. Do expect the occasional meltdown like we just experienced.

It's funny how no matter where you are, the IT sucks! It's certainly crappy here at AA too.
