Looking at the top ten biggest shareholders of Spirit I can’t figure out which investment group you are referring to?

Vanguard and Blackrock only own ~15%. combined, so they won't be a huge factor. With that said, money in your hand now is always worth more than future dollars, especially in the airline industry. It's a no brainer for most investors to take the money and run, so I expect the JetBlue merger to win by a landslide.

Frontier stock has continued to slide since they first made their offer, making their stock plus cash offer less valuable now then it was when it was originally made:
In the meantime, JetBlue has already upped their more lucrative offer. SAVE stockholders would have to be crazy to prefer the cheaper Frontier offer.

Uh... the name of the game in todays world is power and control. BlackRock alone is a $10T fund. Its about consolidating and owning everything you can. Thats the name of todays game. Sorry, you dont understand that. Do you even know anything about BlackRock and their public statements over the last decade?? To them, its more valuable to OWN everything, not make a quick buck. Understand the world my friend, the world is being consolidated for control, not for money, They already have all the money! hahah

Yes they want to own the total market but they can just buy ULCC shares to include them in their products if needed. They aren't sweating bullets because they dont own any F9, they have enough market exposure elsewhere to replicate the airline industry as a whole. I guarantee Vanguard/Blackrock won't even respond to any votes regarding the JB or F9 proposal and will go with whatever happens

Blackrock and Vanguard own so much stock mainly because they need to for their index funds. Not because they are interested in the Airlines or any other industry in particular.

So I’m not really familiar with this hostile takeover stuff.
it sounds like Jetblue just publicly made their intentions to do the hostile takeover eventually, but they actually haven’t started purchasing Spirit shares, correct?
if they do a hostile takeover can Spirit still exercise the poison pill?
I assume even if Spirit shareholders vote for the Frontier merger Jetblue can still go through with the hostile takeover??

Spirit doesn't have a poison pill anymore, I believe it expired.
