I just can't stand it any longer. (some of you will rejoice I'm sure that you've yanked my chain )
Qotsaautopilot just wrote: "Last I checked my LEC reps work at my direction and the MEC chairman and negotiating committee work at their direction"
No the LEC reps don't work at your direction (unless you're one of the insiders who worked to get them elected), once elected they do whatever they please. NOTHING we do, short of a recall, has any control over the decisions the reps make. Period. We can force certain actions on them, like putting recall on a meeting agenda by gaining the appropriate number of signatures on an official petition, but we can't make them make decisions by our direction.
We can pass resolutions at local meetings, but those do NOT carry any weight.
You're correct about the MEC Chair (and Vice Chair, Sec/Treas, and NC Chair) and Committee Chairs working for the Master Council.
All of which places responsibility directly on the shoulders of the six elected reps. I'll second gopro, they have the power over everything. Don't be so quick to give them a pass please.

This just came my way............

I'm curious- your message would imply that somehow ALPA National is colluding with me in an inappropriate way-
Would this be the same ALPA National that covered your salary to the tune of $162,000 and used MY dues dollars to pay for resources to get your job back when you got canned at Trans States for pass travel fraud?
Keep ALPA National out of it-they got it right.
If you'd of accepted the MEC's deal we offered you to step down peacefully none of this would have happened. But no, rather than being a true trade unionist realizing you no longer had the confidence of your bosses (the MEC) and doing what was best for the pilots, you chose to fight and disrupt.
Just so you know, your good pal Todd totally threw you and Chris under the bus- the vote was a solid 6/6 to replace you. That was until Todd found out there was no support for him to fill your position from the MEC after he lobbied each one of us and then he flipped. It's true. Ask any of us.
And to the on your dime comment, don't worry- we will be complying with the constitution and bylaws and be posting all expenses on the website for every volunteer including their FPL. Transparency- it's what we promised and what we will deliver. Oh and no more ALPA drops over holidays either.
I'm sure you'll get questioned as to what you did for over $77,000 in dues dollars last year. I sure the hell would like to know. All I can see is you send out snarky emails.
Jason and I didn't win anything because there was nothing to win- the charges were without merit. Just a bitter old angry small group trying to hold onto power and using whatever disruptive tools they can even if it isn't in the pilot group's best interest.
But that's ok- we know the recall attempt will be coming. I know the pilots will choose the right path as they always do. And we will again prevail. And you'll continue to look more foolish and lose more credibility. My advice? Enjoy your boat peacefully and the new contract we will obtain for you and stop the disruptive behavior.
It's a new Sprit and a new ALPA. That is a fact. The old guard's interest is not aligned with the new path.

Congrats on getting the ALPA National organization to sweep your misdeeds under the rug. We all knew that's how it was going to happen from the outset- that's how it works. That's what they do. I expected nothing less.
However, you and I know that you are are, and always will be- a fraud and charlatan.
Enjoy your time off on my dime while you give away sections of our contract that you didn't fight for.
Kind Regards,

Is this a thread for Spirit pilots to talk about goings on at Spirit Airlines, or a FRICKIN SOAP OPERA!!! Please, please, please enough with the he said, she said, whining, *****ing and moaning about what he did, about what he said, about how he is, just stop it. I think I speak for everyone when I say this is a new company, this is a new contract and this is a new majority of pilots, the old quibbling is and should be done with.

Here's the way I see it. The trouble we're observing is nothing more than the now minority trying to hold on to power. Only one Status rep of six has been here longer than eight years. He, the DTW Capt Representative, has only one ally on the Master Council - the DTW FO Representative. That FO rep is the only person with less than 8 years who supports the old majority. All of the other 4 MEC members are NEW BLOOD! They're just trying to work in our best interests, the fighting is coming from the old guys. Don't get mad at JA, he's not the one who tried to blow up the union with Section 8 charges.
