Some guys went on strike for this contract...
Others went on strike because we sincerely believed we would achieve pay parity now...
As for the arbitration comments, we should ALWAYS be looking for ways to improve our standing as pilots, not just every four (whoops...I mean FIVE) years.

The TA that resulted from our collective efforts is less than perfect, but as we all know 74% of us voted knowing that a point of diminishing returns had been reached.

Unity is vital to our collective efforts, not every 4/5 years but every year, and everyday. Every Spirit pilot went on strike hoping for pay parity now. Suggesting that we did not all strike for pay parity weakens unity and is simply not accurate.

My three closest Spirit friends ALL voted FOR the TA because they were forced to choose between "no man's land" and the TA. Given that choice by our Union and it's ALPA Counsel, my friends voted YES. They didn't like the deal, they didn't like much of anything - but they decided that AT THAT POINT the risk of staying on strike was far too great to take that chance. Their YES vote reflects an opinion I find often enough to allow me to speculate that most of the 74% voted yes because it was better than being unemployed.
BTW, all of my "Law"men friends except one voted for the contract.
Of all the pilots I know that voted NO, only one was a "Law"man. The vast majority of the NO votes I am aware of came from the junior FO ranks. Pilots who have a history of being a part of slightly more active unions.
For the record, I voted NO. I hate trip averaging. Period. No politics necessary

Note: Trip averaging is good for one thing. It gave me an unpaid day today, sitting in a hotel for 30 hours, and allowed me time to waste arguing on internet forums.

Skybolt, I think I over-generalized in my take on yes vote motivations.
However, unity is something we have to support on an on going basis. It's important going forward defending what we have and looking forward to whatever comes next.

I would not want to give up anything for 150% anymore for the above reason. Certainly I would not want to give up the transition language, even though I myself am too junior to use it to my advantage.

I am an OT kind of a guy and I am all for 150%. But the big problem with giving anything for 150% it is that the company can decide to staff properly and we all will fly 85h average lines with nothing in open time. I.e. think of this past March and April. FLICA was dead. They can simply hire enough peeps so NOBODY will work a single 150%.

Target price range for IPO is set at 14-16 per share. Spirit is now hoping to raise up to 320 mil.

Nearer than you think.
"Spirit Airlines commenced marketing its US$320m initial public offering this morning. Citigroup and Morgan Stanley are marketing 20m, all-primary shares on behalf of the discount carrier at US$14-$16 with pricing targeted for the evening of May 24."
