But seriously it's not our fault, and the e mail really didn't place any blame. I suppose one could read blame into it, but you can just as easily not.

Default Transition Arbitration

Now with this award, do we have to confront the Company with the transition conflicts individually or is our MEC going to tally the conflicts and propose the company a back compensation for the past violations.

And moving forward, what do we want?, if there is a offer from NK to keep the old ways of transition by getting something we WANT.

OR

Enforce the NEW transition and let them do what they want and we keep grieving stuff until a Judge actually penalizes NK with money.

"Who knows" would be a good answer to the first question. I would hope that the Union would recognize the impossibility factor in attempting to determine exactly who was damaged and how much damage was done. For example, how do you determine the damage done to someone like me, someone who never bid for a conflict line because I didn't want the uncertainty surrounding my schedule, but who was damaged nevertheless because the circumstance denied me some of the lines?

I would suggest that a lump sum settlement be distributed to all pilots regardless of seat or seniority. Or maybe the Captains should just give it all to the FO's, after all, that's essentially what we did with our signing bonus, right?

Better yet, who gets to decide? I'm sure the company would love to make ALPA prove every case, thus stretching out the process 'til doomsday. I still have two NCC's outstanding from the BUSH 41 administration.

I see Spirit didn't file with the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (RITA | Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS)). Are they hiding some losses?

Doesn't spirit always seem to release its numbers a few weeks later than everyone else. I just always seem to remember them coming out later. Maybe I am mistaken.

I was told we made money in January and February. I hope it's true.

Yes, Spirit typically releases their numbers later than everyone else...sometimes, significantly later.

It stands to reason that Spirit will "post" a profit given their quest to go public; however, there's a big difference between positive net income and positive free cash flow. The free cash flow metric is what we should be concerned with. Net income is too easy to manipulate.

Spirit is still a private company and can use different accounting methods to show "profits." It's apples versus oranges comparing NK to other publicly held airlines.
