Spirit of NKS

"The flight may not have been able to immediately land after the bird strike because the pilot did not declare an emergency, Spirit Airlines spokesman Paul Berry said, so the flight was placed in a holding pattern, or because landing with full fuel tanks was considered too difficult."
Hard to name a major city in CA not beginning with an "S" (Fresno)
Including LA-OC area. (Santa Anna KSNA)

Same in WA, UT.
One thing about NK management is they know how to keep a secret!

Flew the bird strike airplane late that day. Good size dent below the F/O's window still present.

Do not know if it has been mentioned already.
We used to be the only jet MCO-FLL.
AA is flooding that market with several MCO-MIA ?
I see more JB in Central America.
Hope to see us focusing more on the Western market.
Rockies to Pacific region has many routes in which we could successfully compete.
Any rumors on that?

In fact if you glance at the data for 10/2000 vs. 10/2014 you will find out that AA is the only carrier left on the route and frequency is down around 25% (seats are up though as its been upgauged. You also had the likes of CO/US/UA flying that route back in 2000. Combine stats show that Ops/week are down between 75% and ASMs/Seats are down roughly 33% on a 13yr compare.
If you are wondering about MCO-FLL then we are down about 93 weekly frequencies, 75% capacity and 66% in ASMs/seats losing DL/WN/CO in that same time period.
Intra-Florida flying in general isnt what it used to be, youve seen various frequency draw-downs across the board, most recently there was a size-able draw-down by WN who cut RSW-MCO, TPA-JAX, JAX-FLL, TPA-EYW, MCO-EYW and ECP-MCO. Some back-filled by 3M and most recently B6 jumping into the I-95 corridor but its chump change compared to years past.

. Quick story about that...I once went through a merger where the DOJ came in the morning of the announcement and started dumping everything off of my laptop to see if there was any leaking/colluding. You really have to be careful with that kind of stuff, which isnt to say I love reading the rumors on here or airliners.net as they are fantastic entertainment
