It appears not..........there is no reason for them too......
I'm currently inclined to vote yes, get my 10hrs, do the training on a horrid 27hr DTW layover and look to perhaps clean up the language or "get the cost savings back" come contract time......
Kind of, "lose the battle to win the war" type of thing. If the conflicts are going away, voting no to vote no really won't accomplish anything other than looking like a badass on APC. The MEC sending this out without restoring the two days means it's prob not going to happen. It should have been included in the LOA.
You guys can flame away but I just don't see how voting no on this LOA is going to do anything but inconvenience ourselves?
Am I way off target?
ManFlex, you mention "take home" the work but #1, we are being compensated for it (the rate is debatable, I agree) but you can do it at home, or do it in the crew room, where would you rather do it?

Furthermore, he added that all ground school is going to be in base, which has been the plan anyway. So, no more training conflicts. No more going to FLL for 5 days. He pretty much stated if we vote it down we will be coming in to do it where and when they tell us. Or, vote yes and complete training at the time and place of our choosing.
I see no reason to think they won't follow through, so the question now is, can we vote no and get another LOA restoring days off?

I am having a hard time believing we are even giving management anything at this point.

Did anyone ask why did the company negotiate if they could force distance learning as the CBA currently stands?

I don't think you're way off target. I don't think the conflicts would disappear if you vote no. There won't be deadheads, but you'll still burn two duty days sitting in base on an iPad doing ground school. Given how many of our lines are at minimum days off due to unproductive trips and/or abound with 6 day work blocks, something will need to drop. That's why they signed the LOA.

If you had more than the min days off, you'll be training on an off day for 4hrs/day. If you are a commuter, you'll waste time going to base. There are some downsides to management forcing an implementation without the LOA.

The will assign your training on your days off thereby negating the need to drop a four day drop, all for 4hrs of pay and only restore days off if you drop below 13.

^ ok, that's what I thought. Thanks.
The LOA isn't perfect but unfortunately it does beat the alternative.......

They still have to give us a min of 13 days off and a min of 4 days off in a row. Even if I still have to go to my base on a day off, a trip is getting chopped somewhere with these schedules. For me a no vote still is a win win for me.
