If this had 15% DOS and 5% each year for two years, it would pass.
Nobody cares that much about reserves, it’s just a focal point for the section 3 peops. In aggregate I’d say this is better than what we have, but the lack of pace with inflation, combined with some very prominent “gives (including some of the bizarre LCA changes), makes this an obvious “NO,” for everyone outside of TK.
I honestly can’t understand how the company or union thought this would help Unfilled CA positions. I didn’t want to believe the union could be this ignorant, but here we are.

It’s not just reserves who get screwed in this TA. Lineholders are the new reserves. Reassignments moved up to step 2. So every leg through a base would be a crap shoot whether or not you’ll be pulled off your trip for nothing since it not only moves untriggered reassignments from Step 5 to Step 2 but also takes away the 125% add pay if they do it. So you did your time on reserve, managed to become a lineholder, but now you’re essentially a ready reserve each time you land in a domicile. WTF?

I don’t like it one bit. But given the current economic situation with a recession on the horizon, probably a long and deep one, getting anything is a win. People are saying that it barely beats inflation, but no pay raises is much worse with current inflation.
I’ll take the bird in the hand strictly based on the last 2 years economic condition of the company and the forward looking economic situation. Plus its only a 2 year deal so we restart negotiations hopefully right as the economy improves, Delta and American get some pay raises and the company has been profitable for a while.
Also getting something is a step and makes it easier to get our next step up, instead of trying to get it all in one shot in 3-4 years while having given up pay raises we would have had but turned down. 15% raises at the onset of an inflation for a company that has lost Billions in the last 2 years is something to think about.
I would like to vote no out of anger or spite, but it doesn’t gain us anything.

So after thinking about it and going over it many times, I’m a “no” vote. We give up too many things that are incredibly expensive for the Company to buy, and not getting anywhere close to the compensation for those things. The scope concessions are enough to make me vote no in and of themselves. Add to that showing prior to 10:00 on a first day of reserve and medical premiums going up…. Also, no increases in sick time, vacation, and market based retirement plan that is awaiting IRS approval??? Too many loose ends!!! Nothing creative regarding our reserve issues? Nothing substantially punitive for the Company to reassign us while on a trip as a LH?

No seriously, my expectations were a lot higher as well. Its more like an incremental upgrade than a C2K.
