The latter two are pre-covid. As such, the years since hire aren’t going to be predictive. Also by the time a mid ‘23 hire might be eligible there will be 1) a new contract 2) a shrinking 756 fleet 3) a growing 737 fleet. Regardless it’s a long time off

756 fo is currently less than a year and less than two for reserve/line but that’s a reflection of 4000 pilots hired in the last two years. IDK that another 4000 will be hired by mid ‘25

Appreciate the info!

Probably more useful is seniority number (out of ~16500), particularly when you have pre-merger hires, so here is both:
756 FO Reserve: 3/23 16200
756 FO Lineholder: 6/22 14300
756 CA Reserve: 6/15 9400
756 CA Lineholder: 1/07 6500
737 CA Lineholder: 6/18 10600

Even those are unlikely to predict what a 7/23 hire might expect

There has been so much movement and company moving stuff around to different bases/fleets, these questions are useless to ask.

when I started, Newark 737 was THE place for rapid seniority movement. Well, that came to a screeching halt when the company decided Newark was “full”, so Houston is now THE place to be (when just recently it was the most senior place to be).

It’s the best info that is available. No one can predict the future.

No crystal ball required here.

Over the 5+ year timeframe
1) the 756 fleet will shrink
2) the 737 fleet will grow
3) there will be a new contract

All of those will alter the situation

Even the best available information today really isn’t relevant.

I disagree…. That information shows what is the floor. Those times will get nothing but worse.

Will the 756 be replaced by the A321NEO? Any insight as to the future of the 756 at IAH?

the max 10 is nearly a direct 757 replacement.

As is the 321 Neo. The max 10, 321’s and 321XLR’s will take the 757’s role. Imo the smaller 78’s will take the 76’s role.
