The scope AIP is outside of section 6…been in the works since 2019 before we even started negotiations…about the only thing we could work out without the mediator.

Weekly update says we have 20 of 29 sections closed but the the three biggies (scope, pay, scheduling) are still open and needs lots of work.

IF the rumors are even remotely true this is not a contract but yet another extension trading leverage for a small raise to bail the company out. I guess we might as well just codify the bankruptcy provisions in the contract that remain from 20 years ago.

Thanks to those before me who actually fought for contractual gains vs a couple extra bucks in my wallet.

I myself don't see a near term end to inflation, fed reserve has been way too slow.
Now that I've gotten more information on Monkeypox, I'm concerned about its impact on airline travel. Time to get those smallpox vaccinations.

Everyone who's read your posts knows how you'll vote and how you'll be vocal after the TA's made public. Nothing outside of section 3 has been leaked, yet you're essentially stating that this is all about section 3. How much do you pay a month in medical insurance? If the new contract has no cost medical insurance, how much is that worth to you?

This is a good example of how important waiting for the final language is before we react. Zero cost insurance sounds like a gain if it at the very least includes our current options. It would not be a gain if it was just a low quality program that many doctors don’t accept. It’s a package deal but some will always just go to section 3. They always do. I go there too, but it is just to get the numbers that all of the sections use so I can determine if the complete document meets or fails to meet my threshold for a yes vote.

I would hate for all these people to be expecting free family medical insurance and instead they are let down by a "free medical" as in a reimbursed faa medical.

SWA has a free medical aid, costs nothing but like you said less providers and more of you doing your own paperwork billing wise. It’s a good deal for military people.

The company looks at any contract as a package deal as well and there is no free lunch. The term zero cost or free health care is misleading. That item has a cost on the spreadsheet and we are paying for it somewhere. Company paid health insurance, sick bank accrual, vacation, training pay, retirement, reserve enhancements, positive space commuting, and the hourly rate are all pieces of the pie. Any gain in one section had a cost in another. The total cost of the pie might increase, but how it is divided doesn’t.

I'd rather have free healthcare and give away 1st class DH, positive space commuting

That will all depend on how free healthcare is defined. If it’s favorable options that your doctors accept then vote accordingly. If it’s a junk HMO with lots of restrictions that few doctors accept then it would be a concession and not a gain. We’ll know soon enough.
