Vacancy 26-04

Or, and hear me out…enjoy being a NBFO for a while and pack away your hundreds of thousands of dollars per year, plus 18% 401k DC, and then be surprised if you do make NB or WBCA.
Y’all make it sound like anything less than retiring at #1 company wide is a disaster of a career.

my experience is most senior WB FOs are happier than 50% of WBCA thy get bought off for landings, for training etc etc and even if they don’t they fly gig credit trips

They never said "all narrowbody captain bids for the year in a single bid". In bold letters they said they expect the November 737 bid to be "the largest B737 vacancy offering" but not the only one for a year. They said there would be "another" large NB CA bid and those two bids would be "a majority" of CA bids for 2026. All in the October CRU.
Clearly 200 NBCA is not going to fill training for a year with our delivery schedule.

They basically said this will supply staffing through summer flying, I think though if hiring is to continue (and with deliveries and retirements I’m sure it is) they’d have to keep adding vacancies at least every 90 days but they will be smaller

The CRU is cleverly written with vague wording and implying something while not actually saying it. Designed to create panic in those who are close to or on the fence of making the move on an upgrade. It seems to be working as intended too.
Of course it's not and can't be the last big vacancy for the junior fleets. Numbers can't lie. Numbers simply can't support this being anywhere near the last oppurtunity to upgrade. Company is trying to get more senior ones who are delaying upgrade to instead keep enjoying seniority longer at their present position to upgrade instead of having lots of juniors in captain seats. Trying to get things more balanced. Otherwise it's laughable to say this will be the last oppurtunity for another year. The wording in CRU says "best oppurtunity to upgrade on that fleet..." Cleverly creating panic if you don't read it again. Even if they have 100 seat vacancies every month until the end of next year, the one vacancy that has 200+ is "the best oppurtunity" out of all of them of course.
And even if they had said "this will be the last vacancy on xxx fleet for another year." I find it adorable that so many people believe what management says like it has any guarantee to be true. Very adorable.
Numbers don't support this being anywhere near what the paniced believe it to be.

Not everyone desires to be a wb ca or ca period for that matter. Fact is, you can make a dam good living here as a senior nb fo or a wb fo with the new rates . Not everyone is a control freak and has to be in charge. The guys gunning to be in charge as a ca are usually the ones who wives are in charge of them at home and they have no say so in anything 🤣

But what’s in it for the company to get rid of of the topped out FO’s to upgrade…..that’s more people topped out people in the left seat?
