I didn't say "you mad bro."

I said go on and hate, which you clearly are.

Can you stop inventing things that I never said, using your own words, and putting them in quotes to make it look like I did? You did the same BS for some 90 seat scope, fake news that you invented, and then attributed to me despite the fact I never said it. I know creating fake news is the new political thing to do but I'd appreciate it if you don't make false quotes and put them on my name. You have lost all credibility.

I’ll give you the first part, but you are wrong to think there is any company out there that “treats their pilots like professionals!” Every single one has an example in their history where they didn’t.

This is the 2nd time in this thread that you've turned complaints about contract into a perceived attack on you.

(by the way, we both know you said those things. You may act like you didn't. But you did.)

I never said those things. Stop the false lies, Bubs. You got called out by 450knotOffice who researched my posts here and posted very lengthy ones that made my views on scope quite clear. My request is simple. Beotch about the contract all you'd like. All I ask is you stop putting your own words and insert quotes on APC to make it look like I said those things. Twice now you've done it.

And when you say "some," you mean you.

If you would stop attacking people for being dissatisfied, then maybe you would find we're "unified" after all.
Im hardly resigned to a “substandard life”. I’ve worked hard outside of aviation to build a significantly abundant life. That’s what happens when you put all the energy spent banging your head against the RLA wall on something more productive. I never think about work when I’m away and I couldn’t tell you who my base chief is. I don’t care. That said. I’m down for a full on strike if we ever get released to self help. I’ll give that a .00000110 chance of happening. History would certainly suggest that.

Don’t forget about the gift of The Presidential Emergency Board. Clinton knew what that is as he used it against APA. Anyway. Facts still remain facts. We’re in mediation and Gerry Mcguckin is going to let management waste as much time as they want. They always do. Some of you suggest that there’s some secret recipe to short circuit the RLA…if we were “tougher” somehow, we’d get our way. Nope. You’d just bankrupt the union “getting tough”. I can provide you with case histories on that one if anyone would like. Like I said. I know this contract sucks. I’m glad to see newer people moving on in historical droves. I won’t vote yes unless this contract is a total rewrite. I’m not the one that needs convincing. If the “new guard” is doing such a bang up Job, why is Gerry Mcguckin mediating our negotiations? What’s the secret recipe? Waiting with bated breath…

It's absolutely ridiculous that a major airline pilot has to have a second job to have "abundance."

It explains so much.

Personally, I'd rather get paid industry rates and with the quality of life to match. Life is short. Slaving away at two jobs to keep up with my neighbor at Delta is no way to live.

Also, you love to talk about the past. Name dropping the villains who have held Alaska pilots back for decades. Kasher. Clinton. Maybe even put some blame on Ted Kennedy while you're at it. But it doesn't explain how 7 airlines have sailed past Alaska in pay, work rules, and quality of life in the last 10 years. Part of being happy at Alaska Airlines is washing your hands of the blame.

Investment isn’t a job. I don’t have a boss or report to anyone but myself. Ive taken a lot of well calculated risks over the years and the result of that work is not needing this job at all. Not giving a sh*t about the next paycheck from any airline is rather liberating. No Airline will give you the life and happiness you want. That’s on you. Give it some thought.

No. I missed that boat big time. My assets are real estate and paper.

EJ, I think you're missing the point big time.

Whether your alternative source of income comes from investments, passive income, or slaving away yourself or for someone else, some of us are saying that as a career pilot at a major/legacy airline, one should not have to depend on that alternative income to feel somewhat financially secure. That should just be gravy as a result of being a highly compensated person.

Yes, of course having an alternative source of income is smart, and is a sure way to true financial freedom, but in this field, as long as one enjoys the finer things in life in moderation, one should not have to end up being uncertain about their retirement future.
