The LUS side was the same way. They didn't inform you that you were hired until you had a class date. I asked someone in HR after being hired and they said it changed your legal/employment status somehow.

I think the jury is still out on industry wide hiring practices flow/OTS new hires.
I've said a long time ago the last major to have a solid flow will be in a pickle a
sometime in the near future. Seems like Untied will be the last to have a flow. With that said the majors as of right now and most likely the next 3yrs won't have a problem filling classes and being pickey about who's in them but the supply line will run short sooner than later.

Have a buddy that did the video. Got the hang tight email in the spring and nothing since. Did not get the recent email.

in latest pilot meeting in clt with parker these numbers came directly from managment "500-600 total new hires of which 400-450 will be flows" if you factor in the 100-120 recalls expected next summer its gonna mean few if any OTS hires

Did they say what they were going to do with the 20-30 poolies that have been swimming for a year? I heard a rumor that they were going to be given classes in Jan.
It would make sense that if they were going to go with the numbers you posted that they would at least put the poolies in tng and then not hire anymore OTS.

Didn't United go this direction not to long ago? Was recieved negatively hence the "military webinars" and an up swing in mil hiring to backtrack. I could have that wrong but I've heard more than one person talk about it. Wondering if this may be the path AA is being to wonder down.

Default hiring

the words in " " was a direct quote from CLT VP flight Ops He said rest would be street hires but no further info given. Im just passing along non rumor based info so if some of you are passing on another opportunity like Delta or united that maybe you should start considering them. With AA defering a bunch of new aircraft deliveries, implementation of PBS, and parking of the MD80's it could mean a thin 12-18months for OTS

Just as an example, those that were hired at northwest while merger was happening with delta and had class dates or had offers were told Delta would honor the pool but none of those guys were later even offered an interview when Delta started hiring again, so just because you have a conditinal offer, it is just that. AA could say sorry guys its been over a year since we last had a chance to meet with you and things with you and or our need have changed so they flush the pool and start over. It has happened multiple times at numerous airlines over the years so it is a possibility. Not trying to shoot you guys in the pool down but if you are hanging on nothing but an offer, at least be aware that its a possibility, however small, you may never see a class date so dont base major life decisions on it
