Nothing is set in stone yet.

@Canoepilot - the assumption is newhires after the merger announcement will be merged DOH. Key word - assumption.

Newhires? Always go to DFW. First 'off the street' newhires started yesterday.

'Captain's Class'? DNR (D&R??) Duties and Responsibilities. Guys attend at some unspecified, and random, time after upgrade. They show you the big picture, shielded by a cloth so you can't see it, and where a couple of the bodies are buried.

I'm talking about US airways new hires and the US airways captain class. New hires used to go to Phoenix and that captains class was in Charlotte.

my guess is because MIA is less of a disaster than JFK/LGA and you get less pilots timing out/missing commutes/wx/etc. My MIA 737 buddies don't fly that much on rsv, my JFK 737 rsv buddy gets called out a lot. similar in-base seniority.

Does this mean that US airways is taking over all the hiring for the new AA now?

It's good and bad, the us airways interview is easier than aa's and they tend to choose a pretty diverse group to interview but I see now that the 2 options to get on at AA are now lowered to one option.
I just checked my AA application and its still active. Youre talking about aa.pilotcredentials.com right?

On the other side, I wish they'd let you update the USAir application. Once you submit it you cant change anything.

…. right now when one searches for jobs, in this case pilot specifically on AA Careers, it only shows the US Airways job (EMB-190).

My guess is they really do not need any more apps on the AA side for now, or it's simply a tech issue with website changes. And yes, the US side is a really bad system… even the recruiters say so repeatedly at job fairs.

I think they are smartly putting these airlines together technologically first. Then 12-18 months down the road it will make SOC a seamless, non-event transition.

Seems to be the case at DAL, UAL (bad example) and SWA even..... I'm not recalling specifics but do recall reading some mention of this in the SWA and DAL mergers specifically.

Anyone have any idea of the base and aircraft assignments of the new class?
