satpak you can find all the pay rates online on apc, first year is based on a 50 hr. guarantee and then it goes to 62 hrs. all the bases are different some only get guarantee some get lucky and get more, but like all aviation jobs you always just calculate on getting guarantee. Well that is my philosophy at least......

So I am a little confused. Are you saying you are only flying guarantee or getting paid guarantee? Because if you are only getting paid guarantee, you must only be out 12 days a month, right? Anything above that, the 4.95/day would kick in and put you well above guarantee. Can you explain?

The work days per month are 17 whether you fly, sit on your can or deadhead all over the planet. You are paid a guarantee of 50 hours per month whether you fly 50 or not. If you fly less than 50, you get paid 50. If you exceed 50, you are paid in accordance with the hourly rate for the hours above 50. If you exceed 17 days on the road...different variables kick in...it's all in the contract.

Not exactly. Take the total number of hours for the trip and divide by 4.95 (1 hour credit for each 4.95 hours in the trip). But don't think in "days", think hours...and it applies to new hires too. Your 12 day example (exactly 12 days x 24 hours) would be 58.2 for the rig.

My experience--JFK based 767 FO hired Oct 2011, lowest month so far paid 82 hours. YMMV.

Thanks atc,
I get the guarantee part, that's pretty straightforward. My question is regarding the daily trip rig. I thought for everyday you are out, you are guaranteed 4.95 hours, that way you are not sitting around at a hotel burning time and not making any money. Simple math tells me that you just have to be out 10 days to make 1st year guarantee or 12 days after first year. So when he said you pretty much make guarantee every month, that leads me to believe you are only out the min number of days, is that correct? Am I expressin my question correctly? Do you know what I mean?
Thanks!

I'm a little confused as well. I thought your contract was 13 or 14 on (based on a 30 or 31 day month) and the company could extend you up to three additional days bringing your total days away from home to 17 max.

Would you (current employees) say that it's pretty typical to be gone 17 days/month, or is the norm to be gone 13/14? Any info on which domicile/equipment generally work 13/14 and which domiciles/equipment are extended to the full 17 days?

One more question, I've read on here that some guys prefer to do a block of all of their work at once versus splitting up the month and subsequently their days off. Any idea if the newly hired are working all of their days on in one block or if they are able to split trips and days off throughout the month?

Thanks in advance or your replies!

No, that's not it. I think you were replying to ATC and never saw my reply. Go back a few posts and read my reply. Hope it helps.

The contract is 17 days and can be extended to 20. The rig covers working days but not recurrent or vacation. So I had 9 days flying and 8 days in MIA one month. One vacation cut a month to 9 flying days this spring. Last month's vacation cut the flying to 13 days but I should be paid for 3 days of vacation that fell outside of work. And one month a 11 day trip evaporated and turned into home reserve - no rig or per diem. I got called out a couple times for 3 day hops, at the end of the month I was out 13 days.

As pointed out above, the you get an hour's pay for every 4.95 hours away from base. So a full day on the road is 4.84 hours pay. But if your trip starts at noon you're only going to credit 2.42 hours that day. And if your trip gets you back to your base at 18:00, you'll get 3.63 hours credit for that day.
