Thanks, I kind of know what that is like. The last year has been crazy. I retired and was picked up immediately by a regional as there was not much other hiring going on. I just wanted to stay current. I then got hired by another 747 cargo operation so left the regional about two days after finishing IOE and a week before starting the 747 cargo job. My class was cancelled the Friday before training was to start and they have since furloughed about 85 pilots. So much for staying current. Its been about 8 months since I flown anything with more than three tires and thought I was going to have to call another regional and I doubt they would touch me after what I did unless they where desperate and I do think they are starting to feel the crunch a little. Don't anyone take that the wrong way. It was a great experience, the training was excellent, I met a lot of great people and got a small taste and appreciation for what that type of flying is all about. I received my package in the mail today with paperwork to fill out, drug test and return. The job description that was included for me to sign was for a ground instructor. There was no mention of that on the phone. I have to call on Monday and hopefully find out that was an accident. I'm very excited to be coming on board at Atlas. It was my number one choice and can't wait to be there.

Kinda funny, I was driving home from PHL when I got the call. My initial response was very calm, and when I hung up I kept eating my sandwich as if nothing interesting had happened. It only sunk in when I got home and sent off my resignation letter; once I did that it was an immediate "HOLY CRAP!"

I can beat that. I rode the prior job into the ground and interviewed about a month after they closed the doors. Six months later I get the call, something like, "Yeah, we talked about the 400 at the interview but we're running a Classic class and figure since you speak Flight Engineer you might be interested."
"Yes, I'd like a job."
So a month later I'm in MIA and after 4 weeks it's the day before my oral and the Suits walk in the classroom, "We're cancelling the class." I figure it's been interesting but three guys in my class had quit jobs to come to Atlas, they about died.
"No, no, we're just going to move you to the 400. But there's a 400 class going on now so go home for a couple weeks and we'll start over."

Atlas is a great place, if they could ever figure out some of the stuff we see, it'd be incredible.

Hey all! Long time lurker, first time poster. Just took the online test today after getting the HR phone call last week. Everything here is spot on about the test. LOTS of questions right out of the ATP book. Hope that helps, it helped me.

Oh you poor delusional soul...how many times have you been told of the wisdom of our founder..."this is the life you have chosen..."

Seriously...it just makes life more interesting!

So...

When do our 777s show up??

When do 767 FO pay scales match our junior crew members in the 747 flying over guarantee because they don't sit R1?

When does Capt V earn best looking FO of the year for the second straight (so to speak) year?

Can we file for a hearing disability after flying the 767-200s?

Does anyone else FEEL sequested??
