From what I hear from friends at Omni. Union Negotiations are not going well and management has threatened to sell the airplanes to other airlines. i.e. Downsizing. Maybe someone can confirm this info.

Everyone thinks they are already gone and they just haven't announced it yet. I really thought they would have announced it today and sent out furlough letters as a Christmas present to the pilot group.

I know of one carrier who did just that...sent 140 furlough letters on Christmas Eve.

Aw that sucks. I guess my job search isn't over. Figured they would wait until the new year, to fire up training, but this isn't sounding promising.

Don't believe everything you read here. The only reason they aren't hiring is the training backlog with 4 classes of F/Os and 12 CA upgrades all trying to get through IOE.

Idle threats make great scare tactics....

New hire sims are back logged through February... Next recruiting event in March.

The same management that's making these threats did the same back at my previous airline. They say they will "shut it down" and that's what they want you to believe. It's all a scare tactic to take another sub par contract.

Fact is, they are making way too much money to shut it down and everyone else's pilot expenses are going up also. The market price will adjust.

Stay strong !! Or stay at the bottom.

Don't listen to Packrat or FL450, both of them like to think they know it all and have all the facts, when they don't.
There is no backlog and they are continuing classes as scheduled. Keep trying and make a call and check on your status.

6 resignations in December/January to UPS. The training pipeline will remain active.

Thanks for the updates. I'll call after the new year and check in. I'm not out of work so it's not like I'm starving while waiting. I really would just like to avoid another round of NGPA, WIA, and OBAP job fairs
